Wishing You

One of my all time favorite images today.  I first colored this adorable penguin a couple of years ago, and recently decided that it deserved to be reinked and redesigned, so.......

This cutie is a retired stamp from Wild Rose Studios, that I have colored with Copics, then added polar white Flower soft details to the hat.  After fussy cutting I placing it on the card front featuring paper from my stash.  The star die is from Memory Box and the Warm Wishes die is from Frantic Stamper.

Freezin' Season Coming Soon!!

Well the weather here in Alberta has been a roller coaster the past week - Saturday was 29, Monday was a balmy 5, and today...... only Mother Nature knows!!!   Monday's weather definitely made me think of snow, so coloring this image was no problem.

This little cutie and her friend is Skating Snowlady from High Hopes rubber stamps and is available at One Crazy Stamper.  I have colored the image with Copic markers using the Colorless Blender to add dots to the scarf and mittens.  The blades of the skates received a coating of Wink of Stella silver, while the pompoms on the hats of both the skater and the little bird have Flower Soft Polar White details.  The sentiment from High Hopes rubber stamps is also available here, and I added Stickles to the ice that is part of the sentiment.

Today I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you all about this fabulous tool that is available to supplement your Copic coloring.  A couple of months ago, I started seeing a lot of coloring bloggers talking about this wonderful Hex Chart that Sandy Allnock designed featuring Copic markers  arranged by colors, not numbers.  Wow is all that I can say!!!!  This fabulous chart has opened a whole new world of options in color combinations that I would have never thought to use together.  Here's a sneak peek of what it looks like -

The chart is available to purchase through Sandy Allnock's website at http://sandyallnock.com/hexchart.  If you love coloring you will love this chart!!

Always and Forever

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Alberta - just wish the gale force winds would disappear!  I just let my two foster dogs out in the yard, and I think the little one thought she was going to be blown away!

My card today has a gorgeous wedding image from Lili of the Valley, that I have colored with Copics, then matted and placed on designer paper from Creative Imaginations.  Black pearls made with a Viva Décor pearl pen and stickles add dimension to the image.

It's Your Day

The month of August has flown by and today is my last BIRTHDAY themed card for the monthly challenge at One Crazy Stamper.

Just before my move back in May, I cleaned out my Distress Ink Palettes, and just never seemed to have the time to get the inks refilled.   So I finally pulled out all of my Tim Holtz Distress Re-inkers and filled my palettes, and the end result is this little birthday card.  I inked the House Mouse "Spa Day" with Tsukineko Black Onyx ink and stamped it on watercolor paper, and then got busy using my water brush and the distress inks to color the image.  To enhance the bubbles I used Stardust Stickles to add sparkle and shine.

Card Recipe
Flowers - Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserves
Leaves - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint
Mouse Faces - Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
Mouse Bodies - Gathered Twigs
Stone Wall - Pumice Stone, Weathered Wood
Soap Dispenser - Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet
Water Bubbles - Tumbled Glass, Milled Lavender
Sky - Stormy Sky
Bowl - Crushed Olive
Word on bowl - Wild Honey

You still have a couple of days left to enter the BIRTHDAY challenge at One Crazy Stamper to win a fabulous prize, and don't forget that OCS is looking for future guest designers - all of the details are on the blog here.

"Summer"time

The official first day of Summer is only three days away, for then we can say hello to the beautiful heat of the summer sun.  It seems that here in the Calgary area we have had a lot of rain, rain, and more rain, so I am really hoping that the start of summer will mean that rain will go away, and the sun will stick around.  Keeping my fingers crossed!!

My card for Terrific Tuesday at One Crazy Stamper, features one of the newer images from Your Next Stamp entitled Summer.  I've colored the image with Copics, then used a couple of different sizes of the Spellbinders Labels 2 die to mat and frame the image.  The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Summer Oval Letter Seals set, the flower detail is a Martha Stewart border punch, and the ribbon and designer paper is from my own stash.

The Secret Gardener

Tomorrow is moving day for me - so I am scheduling this post a whole month in advance.  I am hoping that when this card goes live, spring will have finally arrived here in Alberta, and that the spring flowers are in full bloom.  The theme for this months challenge at One Crazy Stamper is Flowers, and this card fits the bill perfectly.

This gorgeous young lady is Gardener Gayle from Saturated Canary, which I have colored with Copics.  The image was then cut with one of the newest Spellbinders dies called Opulent Ovals, then the edges and background were inked with the Antique Linen Distress Ink Pad.  The card front has layers of designer paper from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection, and various Prima flowers.  The centers of the lily of the valley flowers all received a bead of Frosted Lace Stickles.

Dreamy Dragon

Surprise!!!
As a last minute favor for Design team member Aaemie I get to post another card this week for One Crazy Stamper, and it's a bright spring colored card to finally celebrate the arrival of spring here in Alberta.  ( Shhhhh, don't say it too loud, or the winter fairies might just decide to return and share a few more flakes of snow - horror!!! )

This adorable little dragon is taking a well deserved nap and dreaming of all of the pretty flowers soon to arrive.  I have colored up Dreamy Dragon from Whimsy Stamps artist Sylvia Zet with my Copics, then added Icicle Stickles to the flowers for that extra shimmer and shine.  The image was cut and matted with the Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles die.  Paper flowers are all from my stash of Prima, while the flower centers are either Kaiser rhinestones, pearls made with the Cream Viva Decor Pearl Pen, or cream Kaiser self adhesive pearls
