It's a Mo Day!

What a coincidence, the challenge at Mo's Digital this week is to create a card with the theme of "In the Doghouse".  I have had this image colored for a few months, and as luck would have it, I finally made it into a card this past weekend!!!

I merged two of Mo's wonderful digital images to make this super cute card - "Guilty Bert" and "Guilty Rocco".  The image is colored with Copics and matted on to dp from DCWV's The Guy Stack.  I kept the embellishments to a minimum using strips of matching cardstock and a Viva Decor Pearl pen to add green pearls.

TPS #74 Metal Embellishments

Welcome to Team B's challenge at The Paper Shelter.  The theme for week #74 is Metal Embellishments, and since I seem to be on a cowboy theme this month, I've colored the image "Little Cowboy".

The dp is from Best Creation's Cowboy Up collection, and comes already cut to this shape.  The metal brads are from Karen Foster, belt buckle is an oldie from W R Memory Keepers, and the ribbon is from my stash.  The sentiment is from a recent win at Art Impressions.
The Paper Shelter is offering a terrific prize of $20.00 to spend on whatever you like at the online store, if you use one of their images. If you do not use one of their images, you can still enter the challenge to win 3 of their images of your choice.

Treat for A Pony

Great minds think alike, or at least choose the same stamp to feature at One Crazy Stamper.  Madge, a fellow dt member, featured this cute image a couple of weeks ago, and now here's my version of the same image.

This is Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong's "Good Pony" image, which I have colored with Copics.  The pony's eye and the red apple both received a coat of Diamond Glaze, and then I cut the image out with Spellbinders Label 25.  After cutting the image out, I noticed that the shape resembles that of a belt buckle, so for the mat I inked up a Cuttlebug embossing folder with black, and used the folder like a letterpress.  After embossing, I ran a Tsukineko Silver Metallic ink pad over the raised parts of the mat, creating the look of a metal belt buckle.  The brown cardstock behind the buckle represents the belt itself.
You still have a few days left to enter to win at the One Crazy Stamper challenge blog with the theme of BBQ/Food.  For details check it out here

A New Bubbles

Well, here it is - the second attempt at a card featuring the gorgeous image "Bubbles" from Saturated Canary.

This card seems to focus more on the image then the first attempt did, or at least I think it does.  Which card do you like - my first attempt featured in my last post, or this one?

Have you ever.....?

Have you ever colored an image, fell in love with it, and then made it into a card that you hated?  I recently colored this beautiful image "Bubbles" from Saturated Canary, added lots of glitter and shine planning to enter into the last challenge at Saturated Canary, and then......this card design that I definitely do not like!!!
So I have torn this card apart and am working on a new design, so stay tuned for what I hope will be a much better card!

Picnic Time

Terrific Tuesday is here again, the skies above are clear again, so let's sing a song of cheer again, Happy Days are here again!!!
Thank goodness you can't hear my singing right now - it would probably scare you away if you could!! Summer is here and this sweet little girl has packed up her picnic basket with a bounty of her special Cinnamon Sugar cupcakes!! Wouldn't you love to join her?

This is Whimsy Stamps Cinnamon Sugar from artist Elisabeth Bell, which I have colored with Copics. I have layered several sizes of Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles Small and the Grand Scalloped Circles to make this adorable easel card. The dp is from the Hello Sunshine collection by Bo Bunny, and the flourishes are Memory Box's Elegant Scrollwork die. The center circle on the inside is also a Spellbinder die, and the felt flowers are from my stash.
You still have lots of time to enter this month's challenge theme of BBQ/Food to win an awesome prize from One Crazy Stamper, so get crafting and enter!!!

Flowers Whisper......

The sun is finally hiding behind the clouds today, hopefully rain is in the forecast to bring some relief from the past nine days of heat.  This is the first year in a long, long time that the weather has been nice for the entire 10 days of Calgary Stampede, we usually get some wild weather, but today is the last day and so far so good!

My card today features the Kraftin' Kimmie image "Poppy" from the creative mind of artist Annie Rodrigue, who was one of the first stamp lines I fell in love with after being introduced to Copics.   Don't even ask me how many of her stamps I own - the count is so high that I need to find a bigger case to store the images!!
The image was colored with Copics then matted and mounted on to the designer paper.  The edges of the first layer of dp were decorated with a Martha Stewart punch, then popped up on the card front dp.  Poppies are cut with a Memory Box die, the sentiment is included with the image, and the sentiment frame is from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three.  The edges of the dp and sentiment were inked with Ranger's Rusty Hinge distress ink.

Summer is here with a vengeance and everyone is out enjoying the heat!!  At least it's not as hot here as it has been in the eastern States where they are desperately waiting for some cooler temperatures.

Doodle Gardens First Challenge

This is my second post for today, so if you are looking for my card for One Crazy Stamper, please scroll down to the last post.

It's finally here, the first ever Doodle Garden challenge!!!!
Welcome to everyone - check out my card, and the rest of the teams wonderful creations at Doodle Garden here.

Doodle Garden is the creation of Jennifer Nilsson, a wonderfully creative artist whose digital images caught my attention recently.  I was over the moon when she asked me to join her first ever design team, and jumped at the chance to show off her adorable digital images to you!!  For this first challenge the theme is Under the Sea.

The wonderful thing about digital images is that you can alter the size, flip the design and get stunning results.  For this card I have used "Little Seahorse" and Seashell Trio, available at Doodle Garden's etsy store.  I resized, flipped and copied the images several times and printed them all out on my Epson printer.  The images are all colored with Copics, fussy cut and then adhered to a sheet of acyrlic, which I scored to make a 3D effect - almost like a shadow box, except that it will fold flat for mailing.  For seaweed I used the flourish die from Tim Holtz, and glued them to the bottom of the card, adding some Tim Holtz distress embossing powder for sand.  You can't really see it in this image but I glued two of the oyster shells together and placed a pearl inside!

You can see the pearl in the above photo, just under the largest seahorse's tail.  The dp that is adhered to the back of the card is from Imaginisce - an oldie but a goodie!  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie.

Hop on over to Doodle Garden and check out the details for the first ever challenge!
