Friends Forever no matter the weather!

I adore penguins!!!  When I see an image featuring a penguin you can be sure that I will soon add it to my collection.  My all time favorite artist Crissy Armstrong designs fabulous images for Whimsy Stamps, and of course they are penguins doing everyday tasks, which I just love!!!

This adorable image is "Penguin and Pup" - can we all say awwwwww!!  I wanted to color the penguin with non traditional colors to give it an antique feeling, and by using my Copics and Prismacolor pencils I think I have achieved the look I was going for.

I am entering this card into the monthly challenge at -

Teddy Bear Hugs Are the Best

Who wouldn't love to have this big old cuddle bear to snuggle with!!!

This sweet image is "Squidgy and Teddy" from Stamping Bella stamps, and the sentiment is included with the image.  The image was colored with Copics, with the bear being the first thing colored so that the terry cloth technique could be used to give the bear texture.  A touch of crochet lace, flowers and punched leaves finish off the card front.

Making a Scene

So many card makers are creating scenic backgrounds for their images lately, so I had to try it myself.  This adorable image is the result!

The sweet "Polar Bear and Mousie" stamp from Stamping Bella seemed to be the perfect image to play with to create a background.  I started by creating the clouds using the My Favorite Things mini cloud stencil, distress ink and tools, then created the water by masking the horizon with Post It tape, and the drifts and hills stencil from My Favorite Things.  The rolling drifts of snow were created with the drifts and hills stencil as well.  The image was colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils, then fussy cut and placed on the background scene.  The icebergs are cut with a die-namic from My Favorite Things.

May Perpetual Calendar

May, the month of new growth and the celebration of Mom.  For my perpetual calendar page I wanted the colors to reflect the sprouting of new foilage, so I went with a bright green dress on this beautiful image from Crafts and Me.

The digital image was printed on watercolor paper, and then painted with Ranger distress ink reinkers and a waterbrush.  The stars and wings have a coat of Wink of Stella clear on them to make them sparkle.
