Nerds Unite!!!

Wow, where did the month of February go?  It seems like only yesterday that the theme for February's One Crazy Stamper challenge was announced, and now you only have two days left to enter to win a fabulous prize by entering your Love themed project.

My card for today features "Computer Nerd" from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps January release.  The image is colored with Copics to match the dp from My Mind's Eye Oliver collection, and the sentiment is included with the stamp.  The glasses were highlighted by adding a stroke of Sakura's White Glaze pen, and then covering the entire lens area with Judikins Diamond Glaze.  The metal embellishments are from my stash.

Don't forget that you only have a couple of days left to enter the challenge theme of Love, at One Crazy Stamper!!!

Movie Night With the Girls

I simply adore the Girlfriends line of stamps from Art Impressions, and the newest releases do not disappoint!!!   The hard choice was which one to color first!!!  And the winner is.........

....... the At the Movies Set!!!  Love, love, love this group of ladies and can actually see myself and my girlfriends sharing this exact experience!!!  I wonder which one is me, and which one represents the personalities of the rest of the group?  After coloring
the image with Copics and fussy cutting it, I wanted to make it look like they are in an actual theatre, so out come the Cuttlebug, and an older Sizzix ( Tim Holtz ) embossing folder, that represents the look of the projector up and behind this hilarious group.  I inked the embossing with a grey and then a silver dew drop.  The sentiment is included in the stamp set, as is the sentiment that I used on the inside of the card.

Have a great day, and make the most of those special friends in your life!!!

Let's Rock

Just a quick post today to show you all another card I finished recently using the distress ink painting technique.  I still love to use the distress ink reinkers and an aqua brush to paint images - love the watercolor look!!

This is one of three images that are included in the Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set "Smells Like Teen Spirit!".  The musical die is from Memory Box, and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Retro Bottle Caps set.

Shall We Dance

Terrific Tuesday time again for One Crazy Stamper, and in keeping with this month's theme of Love, I have stamped and colored up this great image from Art Impressions.

This is one of the Bird Brains stamps called Dancing Birdie and Scratch, which I colored with Copics, fussy cut and then placed on the card front with an Action Wobble to make them dance, wiggle and jive!!!  To create the card front, I randomly rubbed four different colors of distress inks (Aged Mahogany, Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade and Walnut Stain )  across a piece of watercolor paper, then spritzed with water to make the colors blend.  After drying the resulting wash with my heat gun, I then stamped the Aged Mahogany ink pad on to my splat mat, then spritzed the color with water to make the ink form into drops.  I then placed the original piece of blended colors over top of the droplets of color, to create the blotchy look.  To complete the look I stamped the Whimsy Stamps Into the Farm image with Versamark ink, sprinkled with brown embossing powder, and used the heat gun again.  The sentiment is from my stash.  This would be a great card for an anniversay or special day to celebrate Love.

Musical Harmony

Today's card features a wonderful digital image from MayzyArt.  I have decided to step down from the design team, as I have some major changes coming in the next few months - selling and then buying a new home, and a knee replacement sometime in the next year, but I have enjoyed being on this talented lady's team!

This is Bibi's Harmony which fits the next fortnights challenge theme at MayzyArt perfectly - the theme is Music!!!  I have colored the image with Copics, matted it on dp from the Bird Song collection by First Edition, and accented it with a die from Memory Box, and a tag sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.  Please check out the rest of the design teams wonderful creations here, and enter to win a fabulous prize.

A Little Birdie Told Me that maybe Spring is in the Air

It's a beautiful winter day here - an awesome +9C forecasted for today's high, and it makes one think that spring is just around the corner.  Of course, being Alberta born and raised, I know that it will be a while yet before the birds return to brighten our days with their songs, so for today's card I've colored up  three adorable bird images from Eat Cake Graphics.

Holly from Eat Cake Graphics, sent all of the dt members these three birds, and asked us to create a project with them.  My card is a nice clean and simple design with the birds colored with Copics, fussy cut and then placed on or behind the sentiment.  The card base was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I have a couple of other ideas for these birds, so keep an eye out for more designs.

Here's the links for all three birds:

Hearts and Hugs

There is only two more days to go before Valentine's Day arrives, and I just couldn't resist coloring up this adorable Free Hugs image from Saturated Canary, and making it work as a card for the big day!!!  So here's my card for One Crazy Stamper's challenge of Love.

After stamping the image on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored her with Copics.  The image was cut with a Spellbinders die and then attached to the card front, which was also cut with a Spellbinder Grand die.  Several heart shaped punchs are used to frame the image, and to compliment the inside of the card.  The dp on the inside of the card is from Bo Bunny's Love Letters collection, and the sentiment is an oldie from my stash.  A small piece of velcro tape   holds the card closed.

This months challenge at One Crazy Stamper is Love, and we would love to see your fabulous creations!

Cowabunga!!!!!

Today was a play day - how to make a trifold card using three great images from Eat Cake Graphics.

After a few attempts to get the stamped images exactly where I wanted them to be when the card was folded, I then colored  Kitty on Rocks, Yippy for Yardley Kitty, and the Boat House with Copics, and this is the result.  The sentiment was handwritten and seems to be the perfect fit for the adventurous, belly flop kitty!!

What a great card for celebrating summertime relaxing!!

To the Golfer!!!

It's been a few days since my last post, but I've been busy cleaning my home to put it on the market, and then I decided to have a little sale of some of my collection of cardmaking supplies.  I have met some lovely ladies over the last couple of days of my sale, but I really need to get back to the card making, so....

Today, my card is a total change from the love theme that the last few of my cards all seemed to have - it's time to celebrate a special man's day!  This is a set of stamps from Totally Stampalicious and features Gus from Bugaboo Stamps.  The image is colored with distress inks then matted with several layers of designer paper and cardstock.  The sentiment is one of three that are included in the set.

Are you ready?

That's right - for all of you procrastinators out there, you only have nine days left until Valentine's Day is here.  For today's Terrific Tuesday post at One Crazy Stamper I colored up the Valentines Petals image from Saturated Canary. but I didn't want to use the traditional colors of a valentine card.

Whenever I start to color an image, I always start by choosing my papers, so for this little cutie I choose First Editions Hideaway collection with these bright citrus colors.  After the paper is picked, I can then match the Copics for a perfect combination.  The sentiment, one of three that are included with the image, was stamped and mounted on a Spellbinder die frame, and the pearls were made with the Viva Decor Salmon Pearl pen.

Flowers for My Sweet

It is the month of Love, and today's card is my latest attempt at distress ink painting!

The cute image is "On the Garden Wall" from Lili of the Valley, which is stamped on watercolor paper and then painted with various distress ink colors.  The dp is an older Bo Bunny collection, the border is a Martha Stewart punch, and the ribbon and the sentiment are from my stash.

Sweethearts!!!!

Today I'm bringing back those old memories of being at the high school dance - I'm sure we all remember holding up the walls of the gym, while shyly watching the guy or girl of our dreams!!!!  Well this card says it all, and perfectly fit this month's challenge theme of LOVE at One Crazy Stamper.

Both of these images are from Saturated Canary - this is Wallflower and Suspenders.  I have colored and fussy cut both of the images and then popped them up on the folded card front which features a Memory Box La Rue heart die.  The belly band is made from black cardstock, dp from Authentique's Lovely Collection, eyelets and ribbon.

When you slide the belly band off, you get the effect of the full images and then get the first peek of the inside of the card.

This last photo shows the card folded open to reveal the entire inside with the matching dp from Authentique, and the sentiment P.S. I Love You.

All of the supplies used in this card are available at One Crazy Stamper - if you haven't done so yet, check out the online store here, or if you are lucky enough to live in the Bolton, Ontario area you can visit the brick and mortar store.  You have the entire month to enter a project in this month's theme of LOVE to win a fantastic prize.
