Butterflies Rule!!!!!!!!

Well it's cold and blustery out today, so what would be better than to post a bright spring card to warm everyone up!  My card today features a great Eat Cake Graphics image entitled "Butterflies Rule".

I stamped and colored her with my Copic markers, fussy cut the entire image, and then placed it on top of a beautiful Memory Box butterfly die.  The body of the butterfly was covered with microfine glitter using the burnishing technique, and then colored with Copics.  The card front features an older Prima paper with the sentiment handwritten randomly across it.

Chasing Snowflakes

Another weekend and yet another snowstorm approaching us here in Central Alberta.  The last two weekends we have had tons of snow, making roads and sidewalks icy, and now sometime tonight the snow is suppose to start falling again.  What else can a woman do, but celebrate the white stuff!!!!

Once again I have colored up an adorable Eat Cake Graphics image with my Copic markers - this is Paisley - Jane hitches onto a Snowflake.  Doesn't she look like she's having fun!!!  After fussy cutting the image I mounted it on a card front featuring Echo Park Winter Wishes dp, a Spellbinders Grand die, Joy Crafts Ice Crystal 3 die, and a sentiment from Stampendous.  The finishing touches include ribbon and some sparkly snowflake buttons.

Wishing you all a great day, and if you get any of that lovely white stuff just enjoy it!!

Have a spooky day!!!!

Creatures Were Stirring....

Halloween is just a few short days away, so here's an adorable card using three images from the super fabulous company Eat Cake Graphics!!!

I simply love the images that Holly creates, and this year she has come out with some adorable new Halloween images and sentiments - if you haven't visited her store check it out at http://eatcakegraphics.com.  My card today features some of Holly's older images - 2050-F Mr Frisky takes Flight, 3056-I Hank (the dog) on his Hoover, and 5052 -C Crumbs Away.  All of the images are colored with Copics, fussy cut, and then popped up on the card base that I created by masking the moon, and then airbrushing the blue night sky.  The wonderful sentiment is also from Eat Cake Graphics - 8193-E Creatures WERE Stirring.

I'm working on couple of cards featuring the newest images, so keep checking back to see the results!

Lean On Me

Southern Alberta is being hit hard and fast with flash flooding, and the news reports are full of reports of major damage with the worst not yet felt in many areas, including the City of Calgary.  My heart goes out to all of the people impacted by this devastating emergency, and my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.  The only impact to myself, here in Airdrie, has been the development of a lake in my own backyard, but compared to what other people are experiencing, I'll take my instant lake.

One of Those Days.....

Just a quick post today to let you all know why my posts have been sadly lacking lately.  In less than two weeks I will be in the process of moving from my current home to a smaller house outside of Calgary, so my card crafting time has been very limited lately - lots to pack!!  I'm hoping that my new craft room will be set up and ready to use by the end of the month, and then I'll start posting more often, but until then........here's a clean and simple card design using Hazilton Wonders from Eat Cake Graphics.

Oh, Hoppy Day

Just a clean and simple card today with a Easter theme!!

The image, Mr Bun in his Speedy Basket, is from Eat Cake Graphics and I have colored it with Copics, then doodled some puffs of smoke behind the basket.  To add some more fun to the image, I created carrots with an orange Viva Decor Pearl Pen, and a green felt pen.  The sentiment is from the Hoppy Easter set from Pink by Design.

Butterfly Dreams

Spring has arrived, and for today at least the weather is bright and sunny making me think that maybe, just maybe warm weather is just around the corner ( of course I won't mention the extreme weather change that is headed our way for the rest of the week - sigh!!! ).

Since today is the first day of Spring I have been saving this card for the occasion.

This is an adorable image from Eat Cake Graphics called "Abundance", that I have colored with Copics, then used Spellbinder dies to mat and create this easel card.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, lace is from a local fabric store, flowers are Wild Orchid, and the bird and flower pin are from K and Company.  Here's the easel card opened up and on full display!

Enjoy the first day of Spring, and keep good thoughts for that warm weather to arrive soon.

Easter's On it's Way

Easter is less than two weeks away, and this year I have a few different cards designed to celebrate the season, so here's the first - an adorable rocker card featuring a Magnolia image.

The other bunny and eggs are from Darcie's, and all of the images have been colored with Copics, then fussy cut and mounted on the rocker card.  The sentiment is from Eat Cake Graphics, the stems of buds are from the local big box store, and the layered flower is cut with a Le Crea Multidie from Leane Creatief.

Tiniest Thing

When Holly from Eat Cake Graphics, sent all of her design team members these three little bird stamps, I knew that I could use them in many different ways.  This is my second card featuring the birds (the previous card was on my blog back on February 16 ).

Little Birdie Standing Looking Down, Little Birdie Sitting, and Little Birdie Lying Down are all colored with Copics, then fussy cut and placed on the grapevine wreath, that was cut with a Memory Box die.  The branches of green leaves are also from a Memory Box die, flowers are from Prima, and the tiny buttons are from my stash.  Dp is from Bird Song by First Edition Papers, and the sentiment is an oldie from my stash.

Cowabunga!!!!!

Today was a play day - how to make a trifold card using three great images from Eat Cake Graphics.

After a few attempts to get the stamped images exactly where I wanted them to be when the card was folded, I then colored  Kitty on Rocks, Yippy for Yardley Kitty, and the Boat House with Copics, and this is the result.  The sentiment was handwritten and seems to be the perfect fit for the adventurous, belly flop kitty!!

What a great card for celebrating summertime relaxing!!

Snow Business

As much as we would like it to end, winter still has a couple of months to go - so don't hide inside, get outside and enjoy the ride, just like these two buddies.  This is Ethan & Oliver pup Snowy Saucer Fun from Eat Cake Graphics.

I have colored the image with Copics, then fussy cut and mounted it on an action wobbler, so it wiggles and jiggles as they slid down the snowbanks.  The dp is from We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost collection, the embossing is done with a Spellbinders M-bossabilities folder, the sentiment is from an older Inkadinkado set, and the snowflakes are pre-made confetti.

Another day in Paradise????

Well, the weather man yesterday was just a little off when he said that we would be getting a few flurries, with maybe a centimeter or so of the white stuff sticking around.   And to make matters even more fun, today's forecast is for just a few more flurries - HA, HA on us!!!  Here's a photo taken about half an hour ago, of my deck that did not have any snow on it  (especially after yesterday's high of 6C ), and the constant flurry that has not abated all day.  The high for today is a cool -14C!!!

Well that makes my card for today just perfect - this is my first project as part of the design team for Eat Cake Graphics.  If you haven't been to the online store yet, you should jump on over and check out the adorable images that are available by clicking here.

The images I have used today are Sledding - Sarah pulls Nicky and Otto and Snowballs - Stocked and Ready.  Both images have been colored with Copics, then fussy cut and popped up on dp from We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost collection.  The trees are a die from Dee's Distinctively line, and for added depth I have added lots of snow created with liquid applique.
