It's time to celebrate the awe inspiring event in every child's life known as graduation.  Whether it's from kindergarten, high school or a higher level of education it is a wonderful time for all.

Sorry about the photos, but these were a special order and I needed to get them in the mail, so I just had time to grab a quick pic before shipping them out.  Both of these cards feature this years version of graduates from Saturated Canary, plus sentiments from my stash.

Mommy and Me

Here's the second Mother's Day card that I finished on the weekend.  This card features an adorable Saturated Canary image that I colored with Copics, and then mounted on dp from My Mind's Eye Notable collection.  Makes me dream of warmer weather and flowers, something we are sadly lacking here in Alberta this spring.

Wishing everyone a very sunny day in your part of the world!!

Off to Great Places

Time to post another card that I actually completed last year, but never got around to actually showing here on my blog.  This image is a wonderful digital available from Saturated Canary.

The image was stamped on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then painted with Distress inks.  After the coloring was completed, I used the Wonky Squares spellbinders dies to cut both the image and the patterned paper that are on the front of the card.  The tassel was made with embroidery thread to add a touch of dimension to the card.  Dp is from Moxie.

The Secret Gardener

Tomorrow is moving day for me - so I am scheduling this post a whole month in advance.  I am hoping that when this card goes live, spring will have finally arrived here in Alberta, and that the spring flowers are in full bloom.  The theme for this months challenge at One Crazy Stamper is Flowers, and this card fits the bill perfectly.

This gorgeous young lady is Gardener Gayle from Saturated Canary, which I have colored with Copics.  The image was then cut with one of the newest Spellbinders dies called Opulent Ovals, then the edges and background were inked with the Antique Linen Distress Ink Pad.  The card front has layers of designer paper from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection, and various Prima flowers.  The centers of the lily of the valley flowers all received a bead of Frosted Lace Stickles.

Today is Your Day!!

I have a wonderful group of ladies that love to color cards using the painting with Distress Inks technique, and at a recent class they were all talking about the fact that each and every one of them has a child graduating from high school this year.  After they had left for the evening I thought that I should just maybe get busy designing a card for either a girl or boy graduate, and within a few days the group leader called to request a class with grad cards!!!  So here's one of the cards that I designed using the Grad Girl 2012 image from Saturated Canary.

After painting the image I fussy cut her out, which meant that the tassel had to go, so what better way to replace it, then to make an actual tassel.  She is popped up on the card front in front of a Cheery Lynn die, and designer paper from Moxie, and Karen Foster Designs.  The pearls were made with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen, and the sentiment is from The Places You'll Go set from Taylored Expressions.
I'll show you the grad boy card in a few days!!

Hearts and Hugs

There is only two more days to go before Valentine's Day arrives, and I just couldn't resist coloring up this adorable Free Hugs image from Saturated Canary, and making it work as a card for the big day!!!  So here's my card for One Crazy Stamper's challenge of Love.

After stamping the image on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored her with Copics.  The image was cut with a Spellbinders die and then attached to the card front, which was also cut with a Spellbinder Grand die.  Several heart shaped punchs are used to frame the image, and to compliment the inside of the card.  The dp on the inside of the card is from Bo Bunny's Love Letters collection, and the sentiment is an oldie from my stash.  A small piece of velcro tape   holds the card closed.

This months challenge at One Crazy Stamper is Love, and we would love to see your fabulous creations!

Are you ready?

That's right - for all of you procrastinators out there, you only have nine days left until Valentine's Day is here.  For today's Terrific Tuesday post at One Crazy Stamper I colored up the Valentines Petals image from Saturated Canary. but I didn't want to use the traditional colors of a valentine card.

Whenever I start to color an image, I always start by choosing my papers, so for this little cutie I choose First Editions Hideaway collection with these bright citrus colors.  After the paper is picked, I can then match the Copics for a perfect combination.  The sentiment, one of three that are included with the image, was stamped and mounted on a Spellbinder die frame, and the pearls were made with the Viva Decor Salmon Pearl pen.
