The Squeaky Wheel

Today I have a great male themed card to show you all!!!

This Kraftin' Kimmie image entitled "Robot Boy" is colored with Copics, then matted and placed on some of my stash of My Mind's Eve paper. The gears are all cut with a Tim Holtz die, then the edges are inked with a bronze color, and stitching lines are hand drawn. The sentiment is included with the image. For the inside of the card I used the negative images left from the patterned paper used on the front, and popped up circles in the centers.

Absolutely Fabulous!

Terrific Tuesday is here again, and I have another fabulous card to show you today that uses One Crazy Stamper's monthly challenge theme of Bingo. This card has the colors Pink/Black, Flowers, and Swirls - all from the first vertical line of the Bingo.  For more details please check out the OCS blog here.

"Katherine" from Kraftin' Kimmie was stamped with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic Xpress It cardstock, then colored with Copics. After fussy cutting her, I popped her up on the card front featuring the sentiment included with the image, stamped on silver matte foil paper with Tsukeniko Staz On Jet Black ink. The sentiment was framed with a Marianne Designs die cut from black suede paper, and highlighted with Viva Decor Anthracite pearls. The swirls were cut with either Memory Box's Elegant Scrollwork or Cheery Lynn's Mega Flourish Two. The flowers were from my stash.

Pink Dandylion

Wow, who turned the page to a new month - it's June already, it seems like I just put the Christmas decorations away!  Hard to believe but it's time for the new monthly challenge theme at One Crazy Stamper, and this time it's a SKETCH designed by one of our own, Cindy!!  Here's the sketch.....

and this is my card featuring Kraftin' Kimmie Dandy Lion.

The image was stamped on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Memento ink, colored with Copics, highlighted with Stickles Cotton Candy, and matted with grey cardstock.  The edge of the mat was covered with Glitter Ritz Micro Fine Cool Highlight, then the entire image was popped up on dp from Glitz Pretty in Pink paper pack.  I fussy cut the sentiment from an identical sheet of the dp and popped it up for added dimension.  For the flower I cut the Italian Flourish Doily from Cheery Lynn Dies, sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, and while it was still damp scrunched it.  The center of the flower is a piece of seam binding inked with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, and also scrunched, and highlighted with the Cool Highlight glitter.  Leaves for the flower were cut with a Martha Stewart punch, the corners are from the Whimsy Stamps Shapeology Dies Corner set, and edges were inked with Victorian Velvet.

Alice in Glitterland!!

Welcome to my first ever tutorial for One Crazy Stamper!!
This is going to be a long post, so grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit back, relax, and learn how to do the fabulous burnished velvet technique with micro fine glitter, that I have used for the front of my card!!  The image and sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps "Alice in Wonderland" stamp, colored with Copics then fussy cut, and popped up on the glittered card front.

You will need the following items to get started - paper of your choice for the front of your card, Glitter Ritz in the colors of your choice, Scor Tape, large makeup brush, punches, fine tip tweezers, glitter clean up cloth, saved Scor tape white cover paper, and scissors.

Adhere the Scor Tape to the paper that will be the front of your card by removing the brown backing paper from the tape.  Remove the white cover paper and save for later use.  Do not touch the sticky tape with your fingers, as the oil from your hands will affect the adhesive and may cause the finished glitter to appear blotchy.

Using saved pieces of the white cover paper from the Scor Tape, punch out any shapes that you want to use, and then using the tweezers carefully apply these shapes to the front of the card.  Make sure to rub the punched pieces down on to the exposed sticky tape to prevent the glitter from adhering under the punches.

Again using saved Scor Tape pieces, cut out the center where you do not want the glitter, and adhere over the sticky tape.  Pour the first color of glitter over the sticky tape, this will be the main color of your card front.  Using your fingers rub (burnish) the glitter into the sticky tape until the entire card front is covered.  Remove the excess glitter by shaking it off and using the make up brush.
Carefully peel off the large piece of Scor Tape cover paper, cut it into strips, and then replace some of those strips, apply different glitter colors using the same method as above.  Repeat until the card front is totally covered.

To finish the card front, remove the punched shapes with tweezers, cover with the last color of glitter, burnish, shake off excess, and surprise - you have completed a beautiful burnished card front!!
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial, and that you will try out this stunning technique as I know that you will love the finished project!!
You still have 10 days to enter the monthly challenge at One Crazy Stamper to win a fabulous prize, so get creative, and play with us!
Have a wonderful day!!

Sunday's With Crissy - Beat the Mid-Winter Blues

If you are looking for my One Crazy Stamper post for today, please scroll down to the next post.

Welcome to my card for this month's theme at Sundays with Crissy, which is Beat the Mid-Winter Blues.  The theme has many different approaches - blue card, fun in winter card or maybe like me you want to make a card to remind you of warm weather.  The image is Swingin' Emmylou, an image Crissy created for Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  I colored the image with Copics, fussy cut it out, added Flower Soft to add dimension, and adhered it to an acrylic card base that I embossed with a butterfly folder and my Cuttlebug.  Cherry Lynn dies were used to cut the decorative flourish and butterflies, and the sentiment if from Whimsy Stamps Spring Letter Seals set.  The dp is from Prima's Celebrate! Jack and Jill paper collection.  Pop over to Sundays with Crissy to check out the other lovely projects by the rest of the design team, and then get creative and enter to win this month's challenge.

It's time for my Terrific Tuesday post at One Crazy Stamper, and this week I've chosen one of the boys from Kraftin' Kimmie's Snips and Snails set to color.
The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Copic Xpress It paper, colored with Copic Sketch Markers, and cut with Spellbinders Wonky Squares.  The stitches were drawn with a Copic Multiliner, and the sentiments are Whimsy Stamps Mini Love Tickets and matching Mini Ticket die.  The dp is from the Ad Lib paper collection by Bo Bunny, ribbon and brads are from my stash.

Great Tidings

I finally have time to play and design my own cards, so with Christmas right around the corner you'll be seeing a lot of holiday themed cards on my blog.  This card features one of the newer Kraftin' Kimmie images by artist Annie Rodrigue entitled " Elysia Angel".  She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Xpress It paper, and colored with Copics.  After fussy cutting the image, I mounted it on to a Spellbinders Parisan motif die cut from a gorgeous gold paper, then popped up the die and image, using My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas designer paper as the background.  The ribbon and poinsettia embellishment are from a big box craft store, and the sentiment was borrowed from a good friends collection of stamps.

I'm So Excited!!

This past June I had the wonderful experience of my very first Guest Designer spot at a fantastic Canadian online store, One Crazy Stamper.  I had a great time, and was thrilled when Lora of OCS contacted me recently and asked if I would like to join the Design Team.  Without hesitation I said a definite YES!!!.... so here's my first official DT card for One Crazy Stamper.  Woohoo, a Canadian girl working with a Canadian company!

My card features the beautiful "Mizuki" from Kraftin' Kimmie, stamped on Copic Xpress It paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copics.  The background was airbrushed with the same Copic colors, then the image was cut with Spellbinders Wonky Squares.  The designer paper is from Authentique's 6 x 6 Collection - Glowing.  All of these items are available at OCS.

If you haven't checked out One Crazy Stamper yet, just jump on over and check out all of the fantastic products available online - and guess what? - in September Lora opened a retail location in Bolton, Ontario, so now you can shop at the store or online.

Spooky!!

Hard to believe but Halloween is just around the corner, and I wanted to play with my Copics, so....... I pulled out a piece of acrylic and used my copic refills just like you would Alcohol inks from Ranger.  Once the acrylic was dry ( which with any alcohol based ink happens quickly ) I embossed it with the Cuttlebug spider web folder.  Using Art Glitter Cries Clear glue I highlighted the web with black glitter, and placed an extra large pearl brad in the web center.  The finished piece was attached to the card front with black brads, and the edge of the card front has been punched with Martha Stewart's spider web edge.  The spooky image is "Perfect Poison", one of my first Kraftin Kimmie stamps and was also colored with Copics.

Sizzlin' Summer

Dreaming of hot summer days lounging on the beach - what a lovely dream!!  Some day the rain will stay away, and we can all enjoy the heat that this lovely lady is experiencing.  This week at Outlawz Copic/ Promarker Summer challenge you need to create a summer background, so out came the airbrushing tools for my Copics.  I started by masking off the area that the sand would be as well as the sun, then used Maya Road Resist to mask off the white caps in the water.  The sea and sky were airbrushed with B21 and B24, the sun was FY1, and the background of the sand was E23.  I used a Versa Mark embossing pad and Ranger Distress Tea Dye Embossing powder to make the sand grainy.  After removing the Maya Resist, the white caps of the waves were enhanced with Flower Soft Polar White.  The image "Florence" and sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie, and of course were colored with Copics.  Seashell charms were from my stash.  I am entering this card into the following challenge - Outlawz Copic/Promarker Summer Backgound.

New Year, New Ideas

Allright, now I know how hard it is to post regularly - life just seems to get in the way and before you know it six weeks have passed.  I hope that everyone had a great holiday, and had time to relax with family and freinds.  For my New Years resolution I promise to post at least once a week, and keep in touch with everyone.

I decided that I should learn more about the digital images that I have been purchasing over the last few months, so I spent an afternoon learning how to merge, resize and flip images and this is the end result of one of my attempts.  The little girl and the polar bear are both CC Design images that I purchased from All That Scraps.  It is really hard to photograph white on white cards, but I have used several punches and the Viva Decor pearls to accent the snowflakes decorating the front of the card.
**I did it!! I've entered my first challenge at http://abcdtchallenge.blogspot.com/  - I think this particular card really suited the theme for this challenge -it's almost like I knew what the theme would be!!

This is another card that I recently designed using a Kraftin Kimmie image.  The embossing is from the Tim Holtz postcard embossing folder, that I inked and then tore into smaller pieces layering it onto the front of the card.  For the interior of the card I blended several colors of Distress Inks, and then heat embossed an image from Tattered Angels over the resulting paper.  I think this would make an excellent card for someone who is traveling, or for that special man in your life.

That's it for now, but I will be posting again soon, so stay tuned.
