Caroling Canadians

I'll admit it - I'm a bit of a planner, so I make Christmas cards year round in the hopes that I will have a stack to send out come December.  Of course it never fails though - I get a bunch made and someone buys them all in November so once again I have none - sigh!

This card features one of my all time favorite images from High Hopes Rubber Stamps because who doesn't love a moose and a beaver!  This is Mudzie and Chopper's Caroling (S205) available here.  I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then colored it with Inktense pencils and a water brush.  All of the edges of the papers were distressed with the Prima Comfort Distress Tool and then inked with a Antique Linen ink pad.  The treble clef die is from my stash, and the sentiment was printed right on the ribbon - bonus!!

Pool Shark

Today's card was a ton of fun to make!  The card front was made using Copic refills on a sheet of acetate, then small water beads were added for more detail.  The shark is from Whipper Snapper Stamps (Pool Shark), and after coloring I fussy cut him out and placed him on the card front with a action wobbler so that he wiggles!!  The sunglasses and the tube around his middle got a layer of Judikins Diamond Glaze to make them shine.

New Home

Sometime this spring I'll be moving into a new home nestled in the Kootenay's of British Columbia, and today's card seems like the perfect card to give to someone else in my life that may be buying a new home as well.

This image "Pansy Window Box Frame" is from High Hopes rubber stamps, and can be purchased here at One Crazy Stamper.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Copic Xpress It cardstock, and then colored the image with Copics.  To create the bricks I used the broad tip of a Copic sketch marker.  The highlights in the window were created with a Sakura white glaze pen.

Copics - B91, B95, C9, E21, E23, E25, E29,  Y19, Y38, B02, B04, YG17, YG21, YG23, YG25, V12, V15, V17, R27, R39

Rose Bella

When Stamping Bella first announced their flower girl line of stamps I knew I was in trouble, because really, who does not love flowers!  The line continues to grow and I continue to purchase them.  This beauty is "Tiny Townie Garden Girl Rose available here.

I colored the image with Copics and then added Prismacolor pencils for added depth and dimension.  The rose die is from my stash, while the square die is from Spellbinders.  The ink edging and the sentiment were stamped with a Ranger Distress Oxide ink (love the chalk finish of these inks).  The image was fussy cut and placed on the card front.

Furever Beavers

Wednesday has rolled around again, so it's time for me to highlight a new to me High Hopes rubber stamp for One Crazy Stamper.  This week I am sharing the adorable image "Beavers Romance" available here, which would be a perfect image for Valentine's Day.  The sentiment is also a High Hopes rubber stamp that is available here.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Copic Xpress It cardstock, then colored with Copics.  Sakura white glaze pen covers the Luvs lettering to give it some shine, and the centers of the flowers are small dots of Viva Decor pearl pen.  The sentiment was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine ink pad on to kraft paper.

Copics - C2, E27, E59, E29, B41, B45, B39, E55, E23, E25, RV13, Y32, YR31, YR21, YR23, R14, R27, R39

January Perpetual Calendar

A few years ago I made a calendar that featured different stamps companies, and one of the requests I got after that was to design a calendar that could be used throughout multiple years, so the perpetual calendar was designed.  I love the gorgeous images from Sara Burrier that Crafts and Me carry, and I have always loved fairies and elves, so it was an easy decision to base my calendar on this theme.

This beauty was painted using the Ranger line of Distress inks, but only the reinkers were used.  I filled one of the palettes from Ranger with the reinkers and then used a water brush to color.  Touches of sparkle were added to the wings, and a light covering of Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamel finished off the page.

Crazy Quilt

Gotta love the girlfriend stamp sets from Art Impressions and this one is no exception!  This beauty was colored with Copics and then I added highlights and shadows with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

I am entering this card into the following challenge -

Like the Flower

Wee Stamps Sylvia Zet is one of my favorite artists from Whimsy Stamps and this image clearly shows you why I love her images!

This is an older card I designed awhile ago and finally have the time to show you this cutie!  I have colored the image with Copic sketch markers and used paper from First Edition to design the card front.  The image is called "poppy" and you can purchase the image here.
