A Very Unique Name

A new month means it's time for the theme of this month's challenge at One Crazy Stamper to be announced.  Since May is the month when we celebrate Mother's Day our theme is ........... MOTHERS.  Show us your projects featuring Mothers, and be eligible to win an awesome prize from One Crazy Stamper!!

This May will be an extra hard one for me as my Mom passed away last November, so this will be the first year of not being able to talk and see her.  To make it even harder, tomorrow, May 2nd, would have been her birthday.  My Mom had an unusual first name, that you very rarely heard or saw, so when Kraftin' Kimmie released the Moonlight Whispers Angels late last year, I was amazed to see this lovely angel with my Mom's name "Aurelia".  I knew that I had to purchase this stamp to honor my Mom, and I finally inked her up for this challenge theme.
The image is colored with Copics, cut and matted with Spellbinders Label 18, and mounted on dp from the Utopia collection by Kaiser Craft.  Although you can't see it in this photo, her wings and halo were coated with Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink, giving them a lovely glow.  A ribbon bow, pearls that were made with a Viva Decor Pearl pen, and a hand written sentiment complete the front of the card.

I searched the internet for a sentiment for the inside of the card, but instead found this beautiful poem that fit the theme of my card.  My coloring buddies saw the card last night, and they all teared up while reading this poem - not the best way to start a class, but all agreed that this card was a wonderful way to celebrate my memories of my Mother.

For All the Special Ladies You Know

It's time again for a new challenge at Dream Valley, and the theme for the next fortnight is "For a Special Lady".  Our sponsor for the challenge is Saturated Canary, one of my all time favorite digital stamp sites, featuring gorgeous images by Krista Smith.  A few weeks ago Krista asked her followers for image suggestions, and myself and one other follower asked for a Breast Cancer image.  Krista very generously gave the image "Boobie Love" as a freebie to all of her followers.  Here's my card featuring this stunning image -

The image is colored with Copics, and sentiment is another freebie that I have had for awhile now ( I can't remember where I got it from, so if anyone knows, please let me know so I can give full credit ).  The border is a Martha Stewart punch, while the butterfly die is from Whimsy Stamps, and the dp if from My Mind's Eye.

Most Favorite !!!

The color pink seems to be my favorite color at the moment - hard to believe since I hated pink growing up!!  But here's another card with that new favorite!

This is "Love Ya" by Mo Manning for Stamping Bella.  The image is colored with Copics, cut and matted with Spellbinders Scalloped Oval dies, then mounted on plain ol' cardstock ( what no dp - :)!! ) that I embossed with a border from Cuttlebug.  The front of the card was finished with buttons, a charm and pink baker's twine.  On the inside of the card I used the sentiment that came with the stamp -
"you're pretty much my
MOST FAVORITE
of ALL TIME
in the history of EVER".

Pretty Pink Birthday Princess!!!

Here's a cute little card for the special little girl in your life!  I stamped "Birthday Princess" from Sugar Nellie on Copic Xpress It paper, and colored it with Copics.  The image and mat were cut with Spellbinders Label 16, diamond glaze makes the balloon shine, flowers are from Prima, and the ribbon is white seam binding, that I inked with a couple of ink pads to match the colors of the dress.

Let's Break Some Rules

Terrific Tuesday is here again and it's time for me to do another tutorial for One Crazy Stamper.  If you love your Copic markers and you 've mastered the rules of coloring, it's now time to experiment and break some of those rules and learn a few new ones!!  Most of you were taught to pick blending groups with the same letter, same first number and then two or three digits difference in the last number, now it's time to have some fun!

Start by stamping an image that is large enough to practice new blending techniques several times.  For my practice sheet I used Art Impressions Birthday Whoot Set.  The first owl shows you the traditional method of blending using E33, E35, and E37, while the second owl is colored with E33, E37, YR27, and BV04 for the deep shadows.  Notice that the second owl has more subtle shading.

The second set of owls shows the + 10 + 2 rule with the first owl colored with R00 ( + 10 + 2 ), R12 ( +10 + 2 ), and R24, and the second owl is E01 ( + 10 +2 ), E13 ( +10 + 2 ), and E25 ( +10 + 2).  Using this method will give your shading more depth.

This little cutie also follows the + 10 + 2 rule in bright blue!
The next experiment with colors is to color outside the color family which can be a real blast, and the results are awesome!!  Look at these interesting color combinations.
The last image shows an owl colored outside the usual color family and one using the traditional method!

Now it's your turn to break out your Copic markers and have some fun exploring some new coloring options!!  You'll have as much fun as I did - please let us know how your own experiments turned out!

Summer Friends

Time for me to show off another beautiful image from Crissy Armstrong on her Sundays with Crissy blog!  This month's theme is "Use Your Favorite Color Combination".

My favorite color combination is using any of the rich jewel tones - greens, reds, purples, golds, etc, so this image of "Maya and Marissa" from Whimsy stamps got the royal treatment with my Copic markers.  The image and mats are all cut with the Spellbinders Grand Scallop Squares dies, and the sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamps - Whimsy Sentiments Collection Fanciful Birthday Notables 1.  A Martha Stewart ribbon slot punch was used for the threading of the gold ribbon, while the flower is from Recollections.

Adventure Bound

I had time to play again, so for today's card I colored up Stamping Bella's Uptown Girl   "Molly makes a Detour" with my Copic markers.  Spellbinders Labels 14 was used to cut and mat the image, which was popped up on design paper called Up, Up and Away from SEI's En Route collection.  The sentiment and postage stamps are from Whimsy Stamps, and the ribbon and charm are from my stash.

The theme this week at The Paper Shelter is "Wings and Things", so get out your images of anything with wings and join the fun.
The very talented and generous Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter are offering  a fabulous prize of $20 to spend on whatever your like in their online store, if you use one of their gorgeous images in the challenge this week.  If you do not use one of their images, you can still enter the challenge to win 3 of their images of your own choice.

I've colored the image "Bee Bear" with my Copic markers, cut and embossed the frame around the image with a Spellbinders die, and mounted on to a gate fold card.
The antenna have black flocking added to them, and the honey and nose of the bee received a coat of diamond glaze to make them shine.  The dp is from Bo Bunny's Ad Lib collection, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Let's Play

Masculine or a male themed card or project, that's the theme for One Crazy Stamper's monthly challenge.  Today I chose two Nellie Snellen images to feature - I was so happy when OCS started to carry these little cuties.

The image on the front of the card is "Indian Warrior", while the inside has "Yippie-Yeah" ( Cowboy on Horse ).  Both images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on Copic's Xpress It cardstock, then colored with Copics.  The dp is from my stash, and the sentiment is from an older stamp set from Waltzingmouse.  The motifs are from the Ironworks Spellbinders die set.

Tutu Cute!!

Time for another Saturated Canary card featuring the adorable "Haley and Harley".

I colored the image with Copics in bright colors to match the dp, which was from my stash.  The border punch is a Martha Stewart, sentiment is from Pink by Design, and the embossing was done with my Cuttlebug.  The rhinestones are from Recollections - they were originally clear and I colored them with a matching Copic.

Earth Day

Next Sunday, April 22 is Earth Day, so for this fortnight's challenge at Dream Valley we are asking you to create a project using Earth tones!!!

I bought this stamp with this challenge in mind - this is Gaia from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.  The image is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and mounted on dp from Graphic 45 that was cut with Spellbinders Labels 10.  The card base is cardstock cut with Spellbinders Grand Label 4, flowers are from Prima, butterflies are another Spellbinders Grand die, and the copper butterflies and flower centers are from my stash.  John Lennon's quote is included in the stamp set, and was cut with Whimsy's Shapeology dies - Elegant Notables 1 die, and Notables 1 die.

Now is the Time!!

A new month means a new challenge theme at One Crazy Stamper, and April's theme is Masculine!!!  I spent time this week playing with an Art Impressions Front and Back stamp, the Art Impressions Fence stamp, Stamping Bella's Little Umbrella image and a couple of Memory Box dies.

On the front of the card, the image was colored with Copics, fussy cut, then layered onto the fence image that I stamped on dp from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks collection.  The grass was cut with a Magnolia die, and the sentiment is from Pink By Design's retirement set.

The inside of the card features the Little Umbrella image also colored with Copics and fussy cut.  Both the clouds and branches are Memory Box dies and the sentiment is from the same stamp set as the front sentiment.
A big thank you goes out to my coloring buddy last Sunday, who gave me some wonderful suggestions to complete this card - can you spot the little bit of the sunbather's leg peeking through the grass on the front of the card?

TPS Challenge #58 - Anything Goes with Easter in Mind

Easter's on it's way!!!
Only a few days left until the Easter Bunny hops over to everyones house and The Paper Shelter is celebrating with a new challenge - Anything Goes with Easter in Mind.

I choose a soft palette of colors to work with in honor of the Spring season and Easter, and made a top opening card with a nice clean and simple design for the front.  On the inside I used "The Most Adorable Easter Bunny" image from the Paper Shelter.  The image was colored with Copics, and mounted on the same soft pastel dp paper that was featured on the outside flap.  The sentiment was handwritten.

The very talented and generous Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $20 to spend on whatever your like in their webshop, if you use one of their gorgeous images in the challenge this week.

They have such fabulous things to offer you - digi stamps, papers and accessories and all at such wonderful value. If you do not use one of their images, you can still enter the challenge to win 3 of their images of your own choice.

Just Hanging Out!!

With the enabler aid of the Outlawz, I have discovered a new digital artist.  You can purchase her digis at her Etsy store Mayzy Art.  This great image is "Adventure Meri" that I have colored with copics, fussy cut the branches, and mounted on designer paper from My Mind's Eye All Spice collection.  The buttons and sentiment are from my ever growing collection of treasures!!

SUPER Man? Dad? Hero?

Happy April Fools Day everybody!!!  I don't have a joke or a prank for you today, but I do have my card for this month's challenge at One Crazy Stamper!!
The challenge is "MASCULINE" and there is a fantastic prize for the winner!

What says masculine more than the Super dude of all time!!  This image is Superhero from Kenny K for Whimsy Stamps, and for the first time I did a black monochromatic card using nothing but the T Copics.  The image frame is Spellbinders Label 21, and the sentiment, dp and ribbon are from my stash.  The pearls were made with a Viva Decor Anthracite Pearl pen, and the faux stitching was done with a metallic silver pen.
Check out the rest of the design teams wonderful creations and then get creative and enter the challenge to win.

Wedding Challenge at Dream Valley

Another fortnight has flown by which means it's time for the next Dream Valley Challenge.  One of the ladies from the design team has a special day fast approaching, so to celebrate, the theme for this challenge is "Weddings/Love", and One Stop Card Craft is the sponsor of the challenge.

I love this image from Tiddly Inks called "Happy Couple" - not your typical couple, as they are part of the Goth line of images, but so adorable!!  The image is colored with Copics, cut and matted with Spellbinders Label Eighteen, then mounted on paper from Cosmo Cricket.  Prima leaves, Maya Road flowers, and a sentiment from Lily of the Valley complete the card.
Hop on over to the Dream Valley challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team has created to celebrate a special someones Wedding!
