Wonderful News!!!

I have some wonderful news to share today - I've been asked to be a guest designer for the awesome Loves Rubberstamps challenge blog for the month of December!!!  Starting this coming Tuesday, December 4, myself and four other creative ladies will be joining the design team for the weekly challenges!

My card today features one of the soon to be released Saturated Canary images - Winters Day - that can be purchased at the Loves Rubberstamps store.  I have colored the image with Copics then mounted on papers from Bo Bunny's Powder Mountain collection.  Silver glitter on Sookwang tape, ribbon from my stash and an adorable scarf charm finish off the card.
Check back on Tuesday for the first of my cards for the Loves Rubberstamps challenges.

The Paper Shelter's 92nd Challenge

Wow, the time is just flying past and it's time again to show off a card creation for The Paper Shelter's Team B challenge - the theme this week is Christmas is Coming!!!

This adorable image is Christmas Carols that I have colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I created a side step card to feature these little cuties by using dies from Memory Box, and Marianne Designs.  The Gothic window die was placed on Scor tape and received a layer of glitter, and the trees have a touch of Clear Star pen to also make them shine.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the ribbon is from my stash.

Don't forget that The Paper Shelter offers a fantastic prize if your creation features one of their images - a generous $30.00 gift certificate to spend in their store, and if you don't create with one of their images you can still win 3 free images!!!

It's the Last Tuesday of the Month....

...and that means that it's time for my post for One Crazy Stamper!!!

This adorable image is from Nellie Snellen and is entitled "Hokey Pokey".  To color the image I started by choosing paper from last years My Mind's Eye Lost & Found collection, and then matching my colors to the colors in the paper.  The image was matted and layered onto two papers from the MME collection, the flowers were airbrushed with Copic colors to match the dp, and the sentiment and lace are from my stash.

I finally get to show you all the card that I had published - WOOHOO!!!!  It was one of my goals this year to get a card in a magazine, and this sweet card was chosen to be in Designed to Color's August/September issue.

The image is Saturated Canary's "Multitasking Mama" colored with Copics, and the card layout was the sketch that was provided by Designed to Color.

Happy Shopping!!

Did you know that before Krista Smith started Saturated Canary, she sold her fabulous images through Funky Kits?  Simply Sassy images are available in traditional rubber, and now some are available as digital images.  In honor of the United States Thanksgiving holiday, and the massive Black Friday shopping sales, I have colored up the image "Retail Therapy".

The image is colored with Copics then matted on several patterns of dp from the Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection.  Ribbon and the sentiment are from my stash.
Happy Black Friday shopping to everyone!!

Trumpet the News

Hark the Herald, Angels Sing!
Okay, okay,  it's a mouse angel, and she's trumpeting along with her birdie friend not singing, but you get the point!!

This is the House Mouse "Birdie-Ful Duet" image stamped on watercolor paper, then painted with Distress inks.  Stickles add a shimmer to the wings, and Diamond Glaze adds a shine to the berries.  The finished image was cut and matted with Spellbinders Label 25, and the edges were distressed with Brushed Corduroy ink.  The dp is from Authentique's Peaceful collection, the ribbon and the lace are from my stash.

The image was stamped on Copic Xpress it cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copics. Crystal stickles add an extra glimmer to the wings, snow, and bells on the image. The dp is from last years Bo Bunny Father Christmas collection, flowers are from Wild Orchid and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse.

You still have ten days to enter the monthly challenge at One Crazy Stamper, and this month the theme is the ever easy ANYTHING GOES. Check out the design teams wonderful projects, then get creative, and enter to win a fabulous prize.

Summer Dreaming

I'm dreaming of a bright summer day, when the kids were young and playing in the water was the best way to spend the day!!  Why am I dreaming of this on a bright, not so summery day in November ....... because that's the theme for the August calendar page that I have to show you today!!!

I stamped and colored two images by Elizabeth Bell that represented the summer theme - the Belles and Whistles images "Splashing Good Times" and "Googles" - then fussy cut them, and popped them up on dp from Basic Grey.  The sun is a Memory Box die and the blue pearls were made with a Viva Decor pearl pen.  Only two more months to go on this calendar project, and then it will be ready for gift giving.

Icicle Dreams

Okay, today is a surprise post from me for One Crazy Stamper - seems lately I have been creating cards at a faster pace than normal, so here's one of my latest. This super cute image is from Penny Black and the artist Mo Manning and is entitled "Winter Fairy".

The image was stamped on Copic Xpress It cardstock, colored with Copics, and then blinged with Icicle Stickles and flocking. The image was cut with Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One, as was the first layer, then all of the layers were placed on a card base created with Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Ovals. The lace and flowers are from my stash, with the centers of the flowers receiving both Icicle Stickles and light blue pearls created with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

The card is one of my favorite styles - an easel - with the inside featuring the same flowers surrounding a sentiment framed with a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three die.

Little Miss Muffet Guest Designer

Today I get to show off a card that I created as the Guest Designer for the Little Miss Muffet challenge blog, who's theme this time is Textiles.  I recently won challenge #46 Halloween colors with my card here, and was asked to be a guest designer.  I received the adorable image Celeste Amberglow Owl Always Love You to play with.

I colored the image with Copics, then fussy cut her and placed her on the inside of the card.  The front of the card features dp from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy collection, with an opening cut with a Spellbinders Label 8 die.  I added lace trim, a bow and two flowers I made out of ribbon.  The sentiment is from my stash of ever growing stamp sets.

A big thank you goes out to Faye from Little Miss Muffet stamps for inviting me to play with her awesome design team, and I hope I did them proud!!

Easely Does It - and it's not a Typo!!

For this weeks challenge theme at The Paper Shelter we want to see an easel card with a Christmas theme.

For my card for the challenge I colored two different images from The Paper Shelter - Getting Ready for Christmas and the Santa Giraffe from the Giraffes on Holidays set of images.   Both of the images are colored with Copics, then fussy cut and mounted on the card front that also has a couple of lampposts from a Penny Black stamp set ( cause were else would Santa hang his clothes to dry ).  The inside of the card is popped up and features a sentiment from a Flourish set and designer paper from Bo Bunny's Mistletoe collection.  Oh, and before I forget, the snow was all created with liquid applique that was heat embossed.  Here's a close up of just the card front -

Don't forget that The Paper Shelter offers a fantastic prize if your creation features one of their images - a generous $30.00 gift certificate to spend in their store, and if you don't create with one of their images you can still win 3 free images!!!

Holiday Sweets

It's Terrific Tuesday at One Crazy Stamper, so that means it's my turn to show you a project!  Since the challenge theme for this month is Anything Goes, I have not made a card today, but instead made a candle for Christmas giving.

The image is an adorable House Mouse stamp called Christmas Cookie Eaters, that I stamped with Staz on ink on to tissue paper, then colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The edges around the image were torn and inked with a Gathered Twigs Distress Ink pad.  The sprinkles on the cookies were colored with Siren, Gold Lame, and Luscious Lime Smooch metallic paint accents to add a shimmer to the image.  The candle was finished with a braided ribbon trim from my stash.

Christmas Play

I recently cleaned up a corner of my desk, and found many images that I had previously colored.  This is probably one of the first images I ever colored with my Copics, and when compared to my more recent coloring, I can definitely see the difference and improvement.  This sweet little image is from Stampavie and is mounted on dp from Teresa Collins. with the addition of a big red bow and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley.

All Is Calm!!

Today was playing with distress ink painting day, and here's a card that I completed using the High Hopes stamps image Large Lion and Lamb.

The dp is an older Teresa Collins from a couple of years ago, the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, and the ribbon is from my stash.

Beary White Christmas

It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas, or at least if you live in central or northern Alberta it is - my best friend called earlier today to whine and ask me to turn off the snow making machine, but I declined!!!  She didn't turn if off a couple of weeks ago, when we Calgarians got hit with the first snowfall of the season, and I called to whine to her, so turnabout is fair game.  Although ..... we are also suppose to get some snow, but not nearly as much as they have received so far.

So to celebrate the great white stuff, my card today is an all white creation - colored with Copics, embossed with a Spellbinders folder, framed with two Marianne Designs trees, and then everything is all glittered and shined.  The image is from Wild Rose Studios and is entitled "Polar Bears", one of their newest releases - I love, love, love Wild Rose Studio images!!!

The image is colored with Copics and then mounted on a center step card with glittery dp from DCWV, random snowflake punches with rhinestones, and a Memory Box die covered in shimmer.  Even the sentiment received a layer of glimmer.  Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!!

Christmas Presents

November 3 already and the push is on to get those Christmas cards completed, so I have another card to show you all today that I will be teaching on Monday.

This adorable image is Nellie Snellen's "Dawn Take a Present", that is colored with Copics, cut with Spellbinders Label 16, and mounted on two of the Spellbinders Fleur de lis dies that form a snowflake.  It is really hard to tell in the photo, but the red paper has a lovely shimmer, and the dots of snow and snowflakes surrounding the little girl are also shimmery.  The gorgeous dp is from Carta Bella's Winter Fun collection, and the lace is from my stash.

Santa, I Believe

A couple of years ago I colored up this image with Copics, and held a class with this card, and then recently I was asked to redo the card, but use distress inks to color the image instead.  Here's the result.........

I've used the same easel card design, just different coloring medium and paper.  I' hoping that the ladies in my class tonight will like the change!!  By the way, the image is from Flourishes and is called Santa, I Believe.
