Sweet Little Arabelle

I've been absent a lot for the last two weeks due to not feeling 100%, some little bugs must have been sharing the plane ride to Ontario and back, and lucky ole me caught the bug.  First a cold, then chills and fever, and now an ear infection that is definitely slowing down my creative time, but I have a few projects saved for these rainy days.

This little tag was made with "Arabelle" a Frog and Whiskers image that I purchased while visiting One Crazy Stamper this month.  The image was colored with Copics, then texturized with the blender solution and a scrap of terry cloth.  I layered the image on a scrap of cardstock, added ink, a digital tag image from The Paper Shelter, ribbon, and flowers.

Searching

It's the last Tuesday of the month - ALREADY!!!!  Where did the month go?!!
Since it's the last Tuesday it must be time to do the Terrific Tuesday post for One Crazy Stamper and for today's card I've combined three High Hopes Stamps to make one cute card.

This is "Little Sleuth" and "Watson", which were both stamped on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and then colored with Copics.  I then fussy cut the images, and popped them up on the card front that was embossed with the Crafts Too Bone and Pawprint Folder, and lightly inked with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  The faux stitches were done with a red Copic Sketch marker, and the Tracking sentiment is also from High Hopes ( the inside of the card has the remaining sentiment -  Your Birthday ).

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

Wow -- One Crazy Stamper has just added a whole bunch of new High Hopes to the online store site and they are mostly images celebrating the Christmas season and winter.  Love snowpeople, sentiments and all things winter, so I just had to take the time to color up a couple of the new images.

This is "Snowmans Cup of Love" available here.

And this image is called "Snowy Portrait" which is already sold out, but Lora will be restocking the image.

The images were all colored with distress inks and then matted on to card fronts using some of my scrap paper collection.

Christmas Song

Back to distress inks and the wonderful watercolor effect you achieve with the inks when you paint with them.  This card features a Stamps Happen Inc image entitled "Chickadee" by artist Carolyn Shores Wright.

The image is mounted on the inside of the card, while a circle opening on the front is framed with the Frostyville Wreath die cut from Memory Box.  The sentiment is from The Stampin' Up Christmas Lodge set.  This card will be one of three cards in an upcoming class for distress ink painting.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #82

Fall is in the air - the nights are cooler and leaves are starting to change color, so the theme for this week's challenge at the Paper Shelter is Fall - use fall colors, a fall image or both to celebrate the changing of the seasons!!  I have colored the image "Gypsy Dance" with Copic markers then matted it on to dp from Bo Bunny.  The flower is from Recollections, leaves are a Prima product and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

Don't forget that The Paper Shelter is now offering a fantastic prize of a $30.00 gift certificate to the winner if they have used a Paper Shelter image, or your choice of 3 of their fabulous images if your winning card uses another stamp company.

Shiver Me Timbers!!!

Here's another card that fits this month's challenge theme of Kraft, Red and Black over at One Crazy Stamper.  This is High Hopes "The Thundering Rogue" available here at OCS.

I stamped the image with Versa Mark embossing ink and used black embossing powder to heat emboss the image. Using only three colors of Prismacolor pencils ( black , crimson red, and light umber ), and Gamsol with Tortillons I colored and blended out the colors to give shadows and highlights. The sentiment is from an older Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment set, and to finish off the edges on the card front I used Tim Holtz's Black Soot Distress Ink Pad.

Check out what the rest of the team has created over at the challenge blog and then enter to win a fantastic prize.

More Christmas Inspiration

One of my friends and coloring guru, recently shared a new purchase - this fabulous Art Impressions stamp!

This is one of the new tri-fold stamp sets available at Art Impressions - this is Village!
I love the idea of using one stamp set to create such an interactive card, and the instructions that are included with the set are very easy to understand.  I have colored the image with Distress Inks, then added white flocking to the snowman hat, and lots of Polar White Flower Soft to make the scene sparkle.

The set includes a sentiment but I changed to this SU sentiment!

Muddy Wishes

My son recently celebrated his 28th birthday and since he loves to play in the mud ( off roading in his Toyota Tundra, which he has lovingly spent tons of money converting into what I am sure is an awesome piece of work ), I decided to find an appropriately themed image to color.

Although it's not a truck, it's still playing in mud and the sentiment seems to be a perfect match to the image.  This is "Maximum Mud" from Kenny K's digital store, colored with Copics.

Doodle Garden "School Days" Challenge

If you are looking for my post for One Crazy Stamper, please see the previous post.

September and school, the two just go together, and today at The Doodle Garden the challenge theme is "School Days".  You have until September 12th to play and win 5 digital images from our sponsor.

This month the sponsor for the challenge is Softpencil Studios who supplied us with the cute "School Bus" image featured on this page.  The image was colored with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol.  I printed out three copies of the image, and layered different elements to add dimension.  For complete details for the challenge please visit The Doodle Garden here.

Jungle Fever!!

September has arrived already - is it just me, or do the years seem to be flying by way too fast!!  A new month means a new challenge at One Crazy Stamper, and design team member Joni has chosen the theme this month.  She has challenged all of us to a color challenge - Kraft, Red and Black.

I started my card by creating the backgound scene.  Using several different companies version of kraft cardstock I stamped the Jungle background from High Hopes, then fussy cut parts of the image from each color of kraft, and popped them up on the original stamped background, creating a 3-D version.  Walkabout Wally also from High Hopes is stamped on Xpress It cardstock, colored with Copics and also fussy cut and popped up on the card front.
Please visit the One Crazy Stamper challenge blog to see all of the beautiful works of inspiration that the rest of the design team have created for you, then get coloring and enter to win!!!
