One of my friends and coloring guru, recently shared a new purchase - this fabulous Art Impressions stamp!
This is one of the new tri-fold stamp sets available at Art Impressions - this is Village!
I love the idea of using one stamp set to create such an interactive card, and the instructions that are included with the set are very easy to understand. I have colored the image with Distress Inks, then added white flocking to the snowman hat, and lots of Polar White Flower Soft to make the scene sparkle.
The set includes a sentiment but I changed to this SU sentiment!
Gorgeous card Shari. Love the shape of this card, and coloured perfectly.

I really like this card. Would it be too much trouble to tell me the colors of distress inks you used and did you do blending like copic markers? Your colors are just GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
Hi Robin,
DeleteThank you - I really do love to work with distress inks!
Here's the colors that I used:
Reds - Barn Door, Aged Mahogany
Greens - Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
Yellows - Lemonade, Scattered Straw
Sky - Stormy Sky
Lamp Post - Black Soot
Snowman Body - Weathered Wood
Roofs - Weathered Wood, Black Soot
Blues - Chipped Sapphire
Bench - Brushed Cordoroy, Vintage Photo
I color with a water brush, and always start with a very light coat of the color, and then build the depth by just adding more of the same color. I will blend the darker color into the light color as I work on the layering.
Hope this helps!!
thank you so much,I absolutely love the colors, can't wait to get started.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I have one more. Question. What kind of paper did you use? Thank you very much:)
ReplyDeleteI hate to bother you, but one more question. What kind of paper did you use? The paper I have seems kind of dull :(
ReplyDeleteThank you again, Robin Godwin
Hi Robin,
DeleteSorry about the delay - I am on post op day 17 after a total knee replacement and don't get to the computer everyday. From what I can remember I used a 90 lb watercolor paper from Michael's - don't know the brand name but the cover was yellow. Hope this helps.
