Sweet Hanglar

So here's another one of those stamps that I just had to have last year, but then didn't do anything with it. ( After looking through my collection of stamps, it's probably going to take me a couple of years to get through them all!! )

This little beauty is from Hanglar Strangler, and I thought she would be perfect for a Valentine's card, or maybe a birthday, or several other celebrations, so I didn't put a sentiment on her yet.  I colored her with Copics and then used Prismacolor pencils to darken some of the shadows.  The dp is from Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime collection, cardstock and ribbon is from my stash, and the heart border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Today Whimsy Stamps is combining forces with One Crazy Stamper to bring you a Crazy Whimsical  blog hop filled with lots of inspiration and some PRIZES!!

Whimsy Stamps is a family owned rubber stamp company located in the United States. We carry a large variety of exclusive rubber and digital stamps, custom rubber and digital designs, our Shapeology metal crafting dies, and many different crafting embellishments. We have new releases each month for both rubber stamps and dies as well as new digital images. Hop by the shop and see what's new!
One Crazy Stamper is a fantastic Canadian crafting store with an online site as well as a brick and mortar store located in Bolton, Ontario! One Crazy Stamper has the latest products you are looking for! Be sure to check out the One Crazy Stamper shop as well as the OCS blog for your daily inspiration.

Please join our hop featuring projects from the Whimsy and One Crazy Stamper Design Teams.   Be sure to hop around from blog to blog and leave a comment at each stop, because some lucky random commenters are going to win some crafty goodies!!!

For this hop I received this sweet image from Whimsy Stamps by artist Sylvia Zet of Wee  Stamps, entitled "Bird Swing".  I stamped the image with London Fog Memento Ink on Copic Xpress It blending paper, and then colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  Using a Copic multiliner, I outlined the birds in black, and also used a silver pen on the frame of the swing.  I had just received the Japanese Garden Lace Oval die by Cheery Lynn from One Crazy Stamper and was looking for any excuse to use it soooooo......here it is - love, love, love it!!!  And the bonus is that the branch embellishments are included in the center of the oval die!!  If you have never used these gorgeous dies you should order a few, and make sure to also order the Metal Cutting plate, which makes cutting the dies so easy and quick!!  I very carefully cut the image to fit the inside of the oval frame, then layered pattern paper from Lily Bee Designs Head Over Heels Tiny Tablet, and cardstock for the front of the card.  The ribbon, sentiment and pearls were from my stash.

Here is the order of the hop! Happy Hopping!

Toby Tumble

Cuddly Buddly has beautiful digital images and papers from several artists, and one of my favorites is Pacheal Studio's Toby Tumble.  This mischievous bunny is always busy - this  image is "Toby Tumble - Easter Surprise".

The image was colored with Copics, cut out with Spellbinders and layered on to two digital papers from Cuddly Buddly - the bumble bee paper is from Pachela Studios Toby Tumble Hearts and Flowers collection, and the diamond patterned paper is from Cuddly Buddly Peppy Papers Purple/Lime collection.  Flowers are from Prima, pearls are made with a pearl pen, and the ribbon is from my stash.

We're Back!!!

Back to business with the The Paper Shelter - both design teams took a break for two weeks while a design team call was taking place to add to our already fabulous teams, and now it's time for Team B to show off our beautiful creations for the next challenge, which is #48 Swirls and Pearls.

This is Magic Bubbles colored with Copics, then cut with a Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles die.  The bubbles were given dimension with Judikins Diamond Glaze, and blue pearls that are floating up, up and away were made with a Viva Decor Pearl pen.  The digital paper is also from TPS, and can be found in the Gothic Girl collection here.  Chipboard swirls were coated with two different colors of glitter glue, and the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

Sunday's With Crissy - Beat the Mid-Winter Blues

If you are looking for my One Crazy Stamper post for today, please scroll down to the next post.

Welcome to my card for this month's theme at Sundays with Crissy, which is Beat the Mid-Winter Blues.  The theme has many different approaches - blue card, fun in winter card or maybe like me you want to make a card to remind you of warm weather.  The image is Swingin' Emmylou, an image Crissy created for Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  I colored the image with Copics, fussy cut it out, added Flower Soft to add dimension, and adhered it to an acrylic card base that I embossed with a butterfly folder and my Cuttlebug.  Cherry Lynn dies were used to cut the decorative flourish and butterflies, and the sentiment if from Whimsy Stamps Spring Letter Seals set.  The dp is from Prima's Celebrate! Jack and Jill paper collection.  Pop over to Sundays with Crissy to check out the other lovely projects by the rest of the design team, and then get creative and enter to win this month's challenge.

Fred Bear and the Snow Bear

My last post this month for the challenge over at One Crazy Stamper, and as a reminder of the theme of the challenge this month my card is RED/WHITE and the color of my choice, black.

My card features a My Favorite Things stamp entitled "Fred Bear, Snow Bear" one of my favorite images from MFT.  As usual the image was stamped on Copic Xpress It blending paper with Memento ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  The red cardstock and the snowflake were embossed in my Cuttlebug with embossing folders, and the snowflake was inked and glitttered.  The Snow Buddies sentiment was handwritten with Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive and Metal tip, then both the sentiment and the snowflakes were glittered with the Cool Highlights Glitter Ritz.

Little One's Birthday

Recently a friend was looking for an image to use on her granddaughter's first birthday card, and I immediately told her about a digital sweetie from Saturated Canary that would be perfect.  Of course, after I recommended it, I decided it was time to play too, so here's my version of "Baby Cakes - A Ragamuffin".

Oh so adorable all in pink, I colored her with Copics, and paired her with papers from Anna Griffin's Hannah collection, matching cardstock and Tsukineko Pink Petunia ink on all edges.  The sentiment is a combination of a Studio G stamp and my own printing, ribbon is Bazzill, and the flower buttons are from Jesse James.

Love, Hugs and Kisses

It's time for my Terrific Tuesday post at One Crazy Stamper, and this week I've chosen one of the boys from Kraftin' Kimmie's Snips and Snails set to color.
The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Copic Xpress It paper, colored with Copic Sketch Markers, and cut with Spellbinders Wonky Squares.  The stitches were drawn with a Copic Multiliner, and the sentiments are Whimsy Stamps Mini Love Tickets and matching Mini Ticket die.  The dp is from the Ad Lib paper collection by Bo Bunny, ribbon and brads are from my stash.

Finally, A Saturated Canary!!

So my plan to post at least every other day has gone astray - too many migraines the last few days - that's what happens when exactly one week ago we were basking in +13C, and today it's a whopping -27C.  They always say that if you don't like the weather here in Calgary, just wait 5 minutes, but unfortunately this cold is around for a few more days - tomorrows high is going to be a wonderful -30C!!  Since the weather is just frightful it's a great time to color and create!
On Saturday I had a few friends over to color. and I managed to get quite a few images for upcoming challenges colored, plus a couple of others done just for fun - today I completed four of those cards, but three are for dt work so you will have to wait to see those.  Today I am showing off my first ever Saturated Canary card!!!

Digital artist Krista Smith draws these adorable images and sells them on Etsy through her Saturated Canary site, and this is Peace & Love Hipster.  I stamped her on Copic Xpress It paper with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored her with Copics.  The dp is from the Crush collection by Bo Bunny and I thought that it was perfect for the hippy generation of peace and love - white doves anyone?  I used a pink and a black pen to draw the faux stitches, ribbon was from my stash, the sentiment is from CC Designs, and the pearls were made with the Anthracite Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Skating into Your Heart

It's challenge time at One Crazy Stamper, and the theme for this month is RED/WHITE + ONE OTHER COLOR OF YOUR CHOICE.  I choose the gorgeous Magnolia Ice Tilda to color for this card, and made it into a slider card so that she could glide across the pink ice!

The image was stamped on Copic Xpress It paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and then fussy cut.  The pink glittered background papers edge was punched with a Martha Stewart Around the Page punch, snowflakes are dies from Cheery Lynn, sentiment is a LOTV, and the ribbon and snowflake button are from my stash.  The pearls that highlight the sentiment and the border of the card were made with the Ice White Viva Decor pearl pen

You're My Favorite!!

Valentine's day is fast approaching, and when I received this digital image from Cuddly Buddly I thought I should make it into a non-traditional colored card for this upcoming celebration.  The image is entitled "Little Cuddlies - Puppy Hugs" by Pachela Studios, which I colored with Copics then cut, embossed and mounted onto two layers of cardstock cut with Spellbinders Label One dies.  The card base and dp were cut with Spellbinders Grands Label One dies and my Grand Calibur.  The dp and flowers are from Prima.

Pippi

One of my New Year's resolutions is to start inking all of the wonderful stamps that I have collected in the past year that have not even been out of the package.  For those of you who know me, you'll know that my stamp collection is quite massive, so if I stick to the plan I might make a small dent in my inventory!!!  Here's my first attempt...

This is Pippi Longsocks from Sugar Nellie, colored with Copic Sketch markers.  The dp is from the Bo Bunny Ad Lib Collection, flowers are Prima, ribbon is from my stash, and the sentiment is from a Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment set.  The center of each flower is one of my favorite techniques, a pop up glue dot covered with micro beads, looks just like a licorice allsort candy.

It's only the 4th day of the new year and I'm already making Christmas cards for next year!!  I really wanted to enter the challenge at CMC to create  a card with the theme Holiday Joy - using golds, creams and white - and I knew right away what image I was going to use.  This is "Peace" from Cuddly Buddly artist Kim MacFarlane which I colored with Copics.  Prima flowers, Memory Box dies, Spellbinders dies, a gold embossed sentiment, and ribbon from my stash complete my card.

Hot Chocolate Anyone?

Welcome to a brand new year and the new challenge at One Crazy Stamper.  This months challenge theme is Red/White + one other color of your choice.  This Copic colored image is "Served With Love" from Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong.   I added texture to both hats by using the blender pen to make stripes or dots.  The steam from the hot chocolate was highlighted with a Sakura Stardust pen.  Spellbinders Label 22 frames the image, dp is from last year's SEI Christmas collection, and the ribbon is from my stash.  Hop on over to One Crazy Stampers blog here, and enter the challenge to win.
