Beach Time!

Wow, where did the month of May go?  It just seems like time is speeding by faster and faster, and here we are in the last week of May, with a new month looming - someone slow time down please!!
For my last card this month for One Crazy Stamper I have a wonderful image from Art Impressions entitled "Beach Booty set".

I love this set, and I had a blast designing this card!!  The image is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and then the front image was popped up with a double layer of 3D foam dots within an oval that I created by cutting the paper, and then curling the paper back, to expose the water patterned paper behind.  The signage embellishments, summer border and dp are all from Carta Bella's Beach Boardwalk collection, while the Hey beach BOOTY sentiment is included with the stamp set.  On the inside of the card, the back side of the image is popped up on an Action Wobble spring, that is also included with the stamp set.

Card Recipe
Skin - YR000, YR01, YR02
Flippers/Goggles - BG70, BG72, BG75
Eyes - B52
Yellows - Y11, Y13, Y15
Blues - B95, B97, B99

Wishing everyone a beach booty day!!

Texture Tutorial

Time again for me to share a little tutorial with you all for One Crazy Stamper, and today I have decided to show you how to add texture to any Copic colored image you do!

The first thing you need to know is that you must choose what area of the image you are going to texturize, as that will be the first thing you color and then use the technique on.  For the following demos I have colored the tights on the Stamping Bella image The Right Shoes.

After coloring the tights, you need to find some of your wonderful stamps that feature texture, and a mini mister filled with Copic Colorless Blender solution.  I have used a cross hatch stamp, a stamp with polka dots, and another with a square pattern.

With the Copic Colorless blender solution, spritz the texturized stamp a couple of times - don't soak the stamp as that will cause the solution to spread excessively when applied to the finished colored image.  Stamp the pre-colored area with the wet texture stamp, and be prepared to be amazed while you watch the texture appear on your colored image.

 Here's the polka dots....

...and the square patterned results...

Once you're pleased with the textures, finish coloring the image and produce your own wonderful cards!  Here's my textured images completed....

Hope you take the time to experiment and try this easy to do technique!!

Mommy and Me

Here's the second Mother's Day card that I finished on the weekend.  This card features an adorable Saturated Canary image that I colored with Copics, and then mounted on dp from My Mind's Eye Notable collection.  Makes me dream of warmer weather and flowers, something we are sadly lacking here in Alberta this spring.

Wishing everyone a very sunny day in your part of the world!!

Teachers Rule

The challenge this month at One Crazy Stamper is Anything Goes plus an embellishment, which is really easy - just add ribbon, flowers, etc, or in my case for today's post, I have added ribbon and a charm!

The image is a gorgeous stamp from Stamping Bella entitled Uptown Girls - Tessie the Teacher that I have colored with Copics, then added metallic silver details on the globe, and Judikins Diamond Glaze on the lenses of the glasses.  The abc, 123 border is a Martha Stewart punch, the ribbon and charm came from a local big box craft store, and the sentiment is from an older MFT stamp set.  The dp is from Pink Paislee's Old School collection.

A Bird Song for Mom

Mother's Day is fast approaching, so I spent the weekend coloring up several images to celebrate the day!  The first card features a beautiful A Day for Daisies image colored with Copic colors, that perfectly matched the Memory Box paper that forms the backdrop of the finished card.  A Memory Box die and pearls finish off the card.

I'll be showing the rest of the cards throughout the week, so stay tuned!!
