Snow Traveller

Terrific Tuesday time again for One Crazy Stamper, and this time I have colored up the image Jet Setter by Whimsy Stamps artist Kenny K.

 

 

 The image is colored with Copics, then cut and matted with Spellbinders Label 14 dies.  The dp's are both from Bo Bunny's Powder Mountain collection, sentiment is from the Flourishes Snow Days set, and the snowflake die border is from Whimsy Stamps.

Snow Update and a Card

So in my last post I was complaining commenting on the accuracy of the weather man and his definition of flurries, as compared to mine.  Just an update - those Flurries dumped a record amount of snow on Calgary - just a measly 21 centimeters is the official report.  I took my yardstick outside to my deck yesterday and stuck it in the snow, and lucky, lucky me - we actually received 32 cm here in my neighborhood.  ( The on going joke in my family, and now even the ladies that attend classes here in my home, is that my subdivision of Citadel has it's own weather pattern.  Many a times I've had people comment on how as soon as they drive into Citadel, the weather changes dramatically - I still say it's because my community is at a higher elevation, but who really knows - LOL!!!!!).

 

So, since there is so much of the white stuff around now, I'm sticking to the winter theme with my card today.  This is Tilda in the Mountains, a delightful Magnolia image that I have colored with Copics.

 

 



After fussy cutting the image, and popping it up on dp from the Winterings collection by Little Yellow Bicycle, I have added swirls from a Memory Box die, a large snowflake doily from Marianna's Designs, and punched and glittered snowflakes.  The sentiment is from Flourishes Snow Days set, and is perfect for someone's age related birthday.

Santa, I Believe

A couple of years ago I colored up this image with Copics, and held a class with this card, and then recently I was asked to redo the card, but use distress inks to color the image instead.  Here's the result.........

 

 

I've used the same easel card design, just different coloring medium and paper.  I' hoping that the ladies in my class tonight will like the change!!  By the way, the image is from Flourishes and is called Santa, I Believe.

A Father's Day Card

Wow, a card with no coloring and no dp!  This is the card I have made for my Dad featuring images from the Flourishes stamp sets entitled "A Guiding Light" and "Antique Map".  For the front of the card I stamped the image with Versamark, embossed with black, then using Rangers Ink Blending tool I rubbed several colors of distress ink over the paper.  I stamped the ship and sentiment on light tan cardstock, inked the edges and then popped both up with pop dots.  The ribbon was from my stash.  For the inside of the card I stamped both the image and sentiment and then inked the edges.  I am entering this card into One Crazy Stampers challenge at http://onecrazystampercom.blogspot.com/

Did I say Spring was in the Air?!!!

Okay, part of living in Calgary is the weather - one day it's a beautiful  +9c, and the next we are in the middle of yet another snowfall warning.  Wow another 15 cm of snow fell overnight and it is really heavy this time, which makes shovelling soooo much fun!  My son broke a bone in his hand in December and still has a cast on, so you know who had to shovel, and to make it even more of a challenge the shingles were delivered today, and the truck had to park in the driveway before I had shoveled.  Oh well, on the bright side, the shingles are here and by the end of the week the house should have a new roof.

Since the snow has arrived again, I thought I would share this card that I recently finished for a painting with distress inks class.  The image is from Flourishes and is called Vintage Postcard, and was a huge success with the ladies who attended both of my classes.  Thank you to all who attended and I hope you all enjoyed learning this painting technique.
