Trick or Treat, Ain't She Sweet

Wow, time for the next Cuddly Buddly Let's Keep Creating Digi Challenge and the theme as chosen by Design Team member Celine is Baby/Kids.  My image is "Hattie" from Lilyboo Designs artist Sam Salt, which is colored with Copics.  With a clear glitter pen I outlined Hattie, and added bubbles and stars with Smooch Accent Inks.  The card background paper was created by running a sheet of Core-dinations paper through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, then sanding the paper to bring out the detail.  Ribbon and rhinestones were from my stash.

Hide and Seek

It's Saturday so it must be time for my next dt card for Sundays with Crissy - what???!!
Okay, what's really happening is that I get to post my card as a design team member for Sundays with Crissy on the 24th of each month, so for this month that means today is my big day!!
The theme for this month is FRIENDSHIP and I have always loved this adorable image Crissy created entitled Roger and Jo Pumpkin Fun for Squigglefly.  I colored the image with Copics , mounted on black cardstock and popped up on the card front.  The dp paper is Authentique's Glowing 6 x 6 bundle, sentiment is from an old Autumn Leaves set, and the black mesh ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

Now it's your turn to show us your K.I.S.S. cards!!
There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! You may now use images from any company and still be included in the draw for the blog candy prize! Those who use one of Crissy's images, either from her rubber or digital collections will be entered twice in the draw. But please respect the rule of no more than three entries per month. Otherwise your entries could be deleted
You have until the end of August to link your finished project, so go to Sarah's post HERE, find the blue Linky button and click on that to add you project.

Queen of the Nile

It's challenge time at The Paper Shelter and the theme is the ever popular " Anything Goes".  When I saw this beautiful image "Walk Like an Egyptian"  I fell in love, and now I get to work with it.  The image is colored with Copics, and then I used a Martha Stewart punch around the page design which was highlighted with pearls, made with Viva Decor pens.  The dp is from Prima's Melody 6 x 6 paper stack, and the Queen sentiment is from Pink Paislee.

And there's even more fabulous news The Paper Shelter has increased their prize to -

This is because Veronica and Pedro not only have a fabulous variety of images for you to use, but also stunning, beautiful coordinating papers and accessories on their website "The Paper Shelter" , so they felt that it would be appropriate to raise the prize to $20.  If you have used one of their products on your card you will be eligible for the whole amount if you are picked by random number org.  If you haven't used a Paper Shelter image you will still receive one of their images of your own choice if your design is picked by random number org.

Good morning everyone!!  It's a lovely Sunday morning here and it's also time for the next Dream Valley Challenge, which is the theme of "Buttons".  My card features an adorable image by Elisabeth Bell entitled "All Peeked Out Peeker", which I colored with Copics.  I cut the image and the mat with Spellbinders Label 2, inked the edges with some Dew Drops ink pads and then popped the image up on the front of a gate fold card.  The dp is an oldie from Bo Bunny "Alissa Love You" a beautiful double sided paper, the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

Friendship Quilt

It's time to play at Cuddly Buddly's Let's Keep Creating with Digis challenge, and this week it was my turn to pick the theme and I choose a recipe - 3 designer papers, 2 embellishments, and 1 ribbon.  The digital artist I got to work with for this challenge is Kim Sponaugle for Picture Kitchen Studio, and this adorable image is "Giggles & Wiggles" available here.  The image was colored with Copics, mounted on black cardstock and popped up on the card front.  I used three papers from Basic Grey's June Bug 6" x 6" paper pad - two of the papers were cut into the same shape that appears on the quilted background paper, mounted with black cardstock and layered onto the card front.  I wrapped a black ribbon around the center of the card and placed two buttons on the ribbon.  For the inside of the card I used the scraps remaining from the front of the card, and found a friendship quote that suited the theme.  Check out the other dt members cards on the blog and join in the fun!!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Okay yesterday my post was celebrating Halloween, and now we move on to Christmas!!??!!??  Yes, it's a bit early but I received these darling Little Iggies to play with from Cuddly Buddly, and what is a girl to do!!

The above card uses two of the images you receive in the "Little Iggies - Treats" set available here.  I have colored the images with Copics and then used Diamond Glaze and Liquid Applique to add dimension to the candy cane and snow.  The dp was a scrap from last year's Christmas projects.

This card features all of the images together and when I went to color it I wanted to use non-traditional colors, so I went digging through my scrap papers and found these from last years Christmas selection.  The card shape was cut with the Spellbinders Grand Calibur, and the Label 11 Grand dies.  I used the liquid applique for the snow accents on this card also.

Spooky!!

Hard to believe but Halloween is just around the corner, and I wanted to play with my Copics, so....... I pulled out a piece of acrylic and used my copic refills just like you would Alcohol inks from Ranger.  Once the acrylic was dry ( which with any alcohol based ink happens quickly ) I embossed it with the Cuttlebug spider web folder.  Using Art Glitter Cries Clear glue I highlighted the web with black glitter, and placed an extra large pearl brad in the web center.  The finished piece was attached to the card front with black brads, and the edge of the card front has been punched with Martha Stewart's spider web edge.  The spooky image is "Perfect Poison", one of my first Kraftin Kimmie stamps and was also colored with Copics.

Challenges I am putting this card into:

Painting with Copics

This is a card that features the palette technique with Copic markers.  I wanted the finished image to appear softer in tones, so using a palette worked beautifully.  The squares of designer paper are all scraps and the leaf gems were recently purchased at the local big box craft store.

Embossing Challenge

Time for the next challenge on The Paper Shelter, and this week the theme is Embossing of any Kind.  The image I used this week is "In the 20's" from TPS.

The designer paper is from Fancy pants Designs "It's the Little Things" collection and the image was colored with Copics to match the paper.  The image was fussy cut, then layered onto a Spellbinders Beaded Oval  that was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The Sweet Girl sentiment was created on white cardstock with two Cuttlebug embossing folders, cut with decorative edge scissors and inked to emphasize the embossing.

If you enter the challenge and you used a Paper Shelter image, and you are randomly selected in the drawing, you could win a $15.00 gift certificate to spend in The Paper Shelter shop.  If your creation is randomly selected, but you did not use a Paper Shelter image, you could still win your choice of one digi image from The Paper Shelter shop.  Isn't that great!?  That means that everyone can play!

Ahoy Matey!!

The local big box craft store cleared out a whole bunch of jewelry items last month, so I couldn't resist the lure of the clearance call.  Included in my steals of the day was this pirate sword that I just knew I would find a use for someday - while my someday came along with the newest challenge from Dream Valley.  The sponsers this fortnight are OSCC and Sassy Studio Designs and we have a photo inspiration theme.

                                           Challenge 15
My card features "Pirate Penny" from Sassy Studio Designs and was colored with Copics.  I stamped pirate themed sayings onto chalk white seam binding, criss-crossed it across the card front and attached a bow that holds the sword charm plus a skull and crossbones charm.  Some faux stitching was added around the dp which was from my scrap paper pile.

Vintage Birthday

Time for another Cuddly Buddly Let's Keep Creating Digi Challenge and the theme this time as chosen by Sharm is "Vintage, Distressing & Flowers".  For this challenge I got to work with Bits of Ivory digital images from artist Barbara Williams, so I choose Garden Glimpses 2 and Sentiments One

I printed out the sunflower image three times onto kraft cardstock and then colored them with Copics.  Each image then received a coat of Ranger's Distress Crackle Rock Candy Paint.  The base of the card was created with the following layers:
Card - brown cardstock
 Yellow cardstock
7 Gypsies Botanical paper - crumpled, torn, and inked
Kraft cardstock - crimped with an paper crimper and inked
Wide Cream ribbon and bow
The sentiments were also printed onto kraft cardstock, cut with decorative scissors and inked.  The three images were mounted onto the card with pop-up dots, and pearls were added to the top corner.
