Winter Easel Card

Today is suppose to be a very warm 29C here, and then we have a big change coming our way - wet and cool, only 14 on Tuesday and a whooping 10 on Wednesday!!  I think it will be a great excuse to stay indoors and color!!
Todays' card is another beautiful image from Karen Middleton and is available online at Cuddly Buddly.  This one is called "Winter Flight" and I used my Spellbinders to make a beautiful easel card after coloring her with Copics.  I've added shine to her wings, the stitching around the card, and the small starbursts around the bird with the Sakura Clear Star Gelly roll pen.  Pearls were of course made with a Viva Decor pearl pen, snowflakes were included with a Christmas gift I received from a friend a couple of years ago.  The dp is Mitten Weather from Cosmo Cricket.

Karen Middleton Christmas Fairy

Good morning everyone!  The sun is shining and we are suppose to get to 26C today, and right now there is a nice cool breeze that will hopefully keep the house from turning into a furnace.  Todays card is another gorgeous fairy from Karen Middleton - newest digital artist at Cuddly Buddly, and is entitled "Christmas Lights".
I colored her with Copics, added Irridescent Gold Twinkling H20 to the ornaments and  fairy wings, and used the Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to accent the star bursts.  The image was diecut with Spellbinders Label 4, then layered onto one of two dp's that I used from last year's Bo Bunny Christmas line.  The yarn, flowers, brad and sentiment tag are all from my stash.

The Paper Shelter Challenge - Second Post Today

If you're looking for my card for Sundays with Crissy please scroll down to the next post.

It's time for The Paper Shelter's new challenge, and this week the Team B design team were asked to create a card with punches and dies.  I have used a new image from TPS entitled "Dew Drops" which I colored with Copics, then sprayed with glimmer and added Diamond Glaze to the dew drops.  I fussy cut the image, then mounted it onto one of the wonderful digital papers from The Paper Shelter's "Tea Time" collection, which was cut with Spellbinders Label 10.  Using different dies from Whimsy Stamps, Spellbinders, and Marianne Designs, I cut several swirls and leafs from white cardstock and randomly placed them around the image. Ribbon and sentiment are from my stash.

If you enter the challenge and you used a Paper Shelter image, and you are randomly selected in the drawing, you could win a $15.00 gift certificate to spend in The Paper Shelter shop.  If your creation is randomly selected, but you did not use a Paper Shelter image, you could still win your choice of one digi image from The Paper Shelter shop.  Isn't that great!?  That means that everyone can play!

My Turn!!

Yeah, it is finally my big day as one of the newest members of the Sundays With Crissy design team!!!  The theme for this months challenge is K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stamper and I have choosen the lovely image "Ophelia" by Crissy Armstrong which is available through Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.

I decided that it was time for a change in coloring medium so out came the distress inks, I love the look of the watercolor effect.  Her wings were glittered with Smooch Pearlized Top Coat and the stitching lines were hand drawn with a Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The dp is from K & Company's Julianne paper collection, and the ribbon is from my stash.

Now it's your turn to show us your K.I.S.S. cards!!
There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! Winter Anyone?

The countdown is about to begin, just over 4 months until Christmas arrives, so it's time to start thinking about making some cute Christmas cards.

This is "Toby Tumble Happy Times" , a sweet digital image by Pachela Studios available at Cuddly Buddly.  This weeks challenge over at Cuddly Buddly's Let's Keep Creating Digi Challenges is to create a project with Swirls and Bling, as chosen by Marion.  We would really like to see you use a Cuddly Buddly digi image, and if you do you win the following:
The Prize: A £10 (or £5*) Cuddly Buddly Crafts Gift Certificate to be spent as the Winner so chooses in our online Shop.
* If the winning entrant has not used a Cuddly Buddly image they will receive a £5 Gift Certificate.

For this card I colored the image with Copics, trimmed the image with cardstock, and then mounted it onto another piece of cardstock that I had run through my Cuttlebug with the swirls embossing folder.  To highlight the swirls I gently rubbed the embossing with white ink.  The flourishes were cut with a Tim Holtz's die, and then the border, flourishes, and the snow falling in the image were all glittered with Diamond Dust.  Rhinestones, and the sentiment from my stash completed the card.

A Sweetheart

Wow, where has the past week gone!!  Hard to believe that I haven't posted since last Friday, but life got a little hectic!  Anyhow, the card I am featuring today is the one that I did for my first post for Sundays with Crissy (which will be on August 24th ), but I have changed my mind as so many of the other members of the dt have used this image as well.  So what image am I going to use for my first dt post???  Check back on the 24th!!

This beautiful image is "Forget Me Not" and is available from Whimsy Stamps - it is a digital image from artist Crissy Armstrong.  The best part of using a digital image is that you control the finished size, and I did print this out as a larger image.  I colored her with Copics and added the small flower detail on the hem and sleeves of the dress.  The dp is from K & Company's Julianne collection, border punch is a Martha Stewart, and the Stickles and flowers are from my stash.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy - #15 Anything Goes
Paper Crafting Journey - #17 Anything Goes

This little cutie is "Penny" and I have colored her with Copics, and used the blender pen to make the dots on her dress.  The image was fussy cut at the bottom, then a Spellbinders die was used to make the oval background which was then inked with Pretty Petunia.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, and the ribbon was from my stash.

Lunch Anyone?

Another beautiful day here in sunny Alberta - I know I shouldn't say this because I'll probably jinks it, but summer has finally arrived!!
It's time for my very first card for The Paper Shelter design team "B".  The challenge this week is to create a card with Stitching Faux or RealI have chosen The Paper Shelter image "Cool Waitress".

The image was colored with Copics then cut out with Spellbinders Label 11.  All of the layers of the card were either hand cut ( I wanted the red and the white paper to be just a bit bigger than the original shaped die ), or with a Nestabilities or Grand die.  The faux stitching was added to the edges of the layers, the waitress's apron, hat and collar, and the swirls indicating movement.  The sentiment is from a Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment set, and the pearls were made with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

CMC Guest Designer

Good Morning everyone, I hope the sun is shining where ever you are!  Today's card was designed for Color Me Creative's Copic challenge group, but instead of being an entry, this card is actually for winning the first Guest Designer spotlight at CMC.

The challenge this time is "friendship themed" and you must color embellishments on your project with Copics and/or Airbrush (ribbon, pearls, buttons, flowers, etc).  I have used the image "Out There" from Mo's Digital Pencil colored with Copics.  The ribbon was airbrushed with B39 and E37, and the brads were colored with E37.  The sentiment was done on my computer.

Snips and Snails

All of a sudden little boy cards have entered my life - maybe it's the blues as that is a favorite color of mine.  This little cutie is a Cuddly Buddly Digi Stamp entitled "Eliza and Bro It's Mister Wiggly" and is by Kim McFarlene, one of the creative artists at Cuddly Buddly.  Since it's Friday, that must mean that it's time for Challenge #6 at Let's Keep Creating! Digi Stamp challenge over at Cuddly Buddly, and this time the dt was asked to use Chris's choice of theme - Stitching!!!  I have used a combination of faux and real stitching on the card which of course was colored with Copics.  The adorable dp is from Kaiser Craft Jungle Bug Collection, and the sentiment is from an Autumn Leaves set entitled "Boy", that I stumbled onto in the clearance section of a local craft store just last week - love when things just seem to all fall together!

Okay, now for the bad, and hopefully I will make it through this post without totally breaking down.  It is with heavy heart and many tears that I share the news that my beautiful, loving, gentle soul Indie, has left my life.  She was my guard dog and cuddlier, and will be greatly missed.  Back in May she survived a spontaneous pneumothorax, but there was no guarantee that she would not have another episode.  Unfortunately, yesterday things took a turn for the worse, and sadly we had to let her go ( thankfully my daughter was here to hold on to me ).  I will miss her hiding under my desk during thunderstorms,  her gentleness and love, and her funny way of sleeping.  I will leave you all with a couple of photos of my big baby girl.
