Unlikely Friends

Welcome to the first day of the last month of 2013 - where did the year go?  Since it's a new month that means it's time to announce the new challenge theme at One Crazy Stamper, and this month we would love to see your WINTER projects.

For my card today I have stamped up one of the new Stampendous House Mouse designs cling stamp entitled - "Berrying Gifts" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic Xpress It cardstock, and then colored the image with Copics.  To make the scene nice and wintery I used white Liquid Applique and glitter to add all of the snow, and used the Sakura white glaze pen to add white highlights on the berries and eyes of the animals.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Snowflake Mini Letter Seals, and the pine border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Card Recipe -
 Background - BG0000
Pine Needles - BG93, BG96
Bird - light area - E50, E51, E53 (add W2 to beak)
Dark area - E33, E35, E37

Hi Cupcake!

Wow, another month has flown by and today we welcome March - I wonder if it will come in as a lion or a lamb!  Since it's the first that means that it's time for the next One Crazy Stamper monthly challenge to begin, and this month the theme is "Birthday Wishes".

I have stamped "Birthday Cupcake" from House Mouse on Copic Xpress It paper with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and colored it with Copics.  To add highlights to parts of the image I used the Prismacolor white pencil crayon and Gamsol.  I used Judikins Diamond Glaze on the candles, and Smooch Illuminate Top Coat on the outside of the cupcake liner to make it look metallic.

The image was cut and matted with Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangles, then layered on to scrap paper from my stash.  The sentiment from Inkadinkado's Birthday Cupcake set was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Coffee Time

Look at what I found in a pile of stamped images waiting to be colored - a House Mouse image colored and ready to be made into a card!!  I remember coloring this with my Copics, but have no idea what colors I used.  The edges of the image and mat were both torn and distressed, and I created the card front by just inking it with a couple of different colors of brown ink.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie, the coffee beans were made with a brown Viva Decor Pearl pen, and the jute ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Coffee Anyone?

Better a day late, then never

Okay, if you are one of the two friends who have added to your family this week you are not allowed to see these cards yet - and you both know who you are, so just click the back button right away, or you will have to practice your surprised look for when I do get these cards to you!!!

I have been spending the last few days working on two baby cards.  The card pictured here is for a really good friend who has become a Grandmama for the first time.  She loves the grunge or vintage look, so I distressed and inked the new K & Company Julianne paper to match the adorable teddy bear image I borrowed from another friend.  For the inside of the card I used the same grunged paper and stamped a beautiful sentiment from CC Designs Baby Sentiments.

The next card is for a friend who has been blessed with her first child, a beautiful little girl.  I kept changing my mind about which image to use, but finally fell in love with both of these adorable House Mouse Images, and since I couldn't decide which one was my favorite, I just had to use one for the inside of the card.  The lace is from my stash and the embossing on the white cardstock was done with a Crafts Too embossing folder.  The sentiments are from a Baby set from Cloud 9 Designs.
